We did have to combine the use of the directions that came with this device and directions that come with the actual MM brand opener (I downloaded them), and kind of common sense used them to hook it up. The yellow wire did not need to be connected to function properly in our system.

I originally gave a negative review because the product would not open the gate. Wand couldn't be sent back because it was purchased over 3 months ago. After posting the review, the company has offered to give me a full refund. Although the product doesn't work, I am happy that I am getting my money back.

I was very skeptical that this simple device would automatically open my gate as cars approached it. I just followed the directions to place it right at the edge of the roadway and buried it under a couple inches of dirt. It has never failed to work properly in the three months it’s been in use in all kinds of weather and temperatures. The connection instructions are typically bad Chinese to English, but you basically just connect most of the wires together at a ground terminal on the circuit board and provide power from the appropriate terminal that is designed to open, not close, the gate when activated by a big magnetic car or ATV. No need for the confusing variable adjustment rotary potentiometer included. Just skip that complexity. Highly Recommended. M Y gate has an Apollo circuit board that has a circuit for what used to be called an exit ground loop. Only thing to watch out for is it opens each time something goes by, even if you just closed the gate coming in… Wait until you pass it to close the gate behind you or let the auto close timer do it.

I purchased this vehicle detector for my LiftMaster LA500 gate controller and it works great! Also, their customer support is AMAZING! I reached out to them for help and they sent me a photo of my controller showing exactly what terminals to connect all the wires to. Highly recommended!
