I bought this hydro garden because I have a green thumb but I can’t grow anything past the germination stage. I can keep an already alive plant thriving but I have a difficult time growing something from beginning to end. So I was recommended to try a hydro garden and this was the cheapest option. I thought what do I have to lose? It just arrived today and set up took less than 5 mins. It gives you step by step instructions. Everything is included except the water and the seeds. It’s a total no brainer! Basically a set it and forget it system to a degree. Fingers crossed I can grow something edible.

The lights do not turn on and off automatically. They are also tied together on the same power cord so you can't use a timer or you'll shut the pump off too. Still giving it 5 stars. Because it is a high quality product and very well made. You just need to set a timer for yourself to turn it on and off.

It is so very hard to find decent size pods anymore and we’ve had a heck of a time growing our basil once we ran out of original pods and bought an off brand thinking they were all the same. They are not!I ordered 2 name brands and one, which was cheaper, the pods were the same small size and density of the cheap off brand kind. Disappointing. These Ahopegarden pods, while not the same size as the originals irritatingly, are bigger and closer to what we need! Also a different density. So while more expensive, this is the one for us!We’re hoping they don’t also get any smaller! If they do, we’re probably done doing our own hydroponic growing at home. I don’t know why they all cheapened them up to be unusable!I’ll update once we start growing and let you know if it provides a better growing result!

This picture is taken at 2 wks and 2 days from planting seeds! It is soooo easy! I already tried a leaf of swiss chard and it is incredible how different it tastes from store bought. Thank you Aerogarden for making it so easy to grow inside. I can't wait to make a salad!!
