I was NOT able to use this. I tried to swab my cat's mouth, all it did was make her mad and caused her mouth to bleed.

Pretty easy to get going, you get on their website, create a user profile and register your kit (there's a serial number on each kit). Then they email you a UPS shipping label and you're ready to take the sample. The most difficult part of taking the sample was it states that your pet cannot eat or drink within one hour, and well, my cat doesn't like to take direction. It took a couple of attempts but I finally achieved the one hour buffer. Then swab, bag, seal, and ship. The website seems nice ... I can't wait to see the results.

It's hard to review an item that takes a while before you see the final result but I'm making an attempt now for the contents and the instructions you get from the product listing itself and what came out of the envelop.You do indeed get the swabs in a very sanitised packaging and instructions on how to proceed. I will update this review based upon the speed of processing, of the results and other post-purchase add ons claimed. So far so good so let's start with a 5-star rating.

Das Ergebnis ist zwar noch offen aber ich bin total begeistert davon wie einfach man durch alles durchgeleitet wird. Den Abstrich bei unserer Katze zu nehmen war zwar nicht so einfach aber leichter kann einem ein DNA Test für seine Katze eigentlich nicht gemacht werden. Stäbchen eingepackt und verschickt :) wir sind schon sehr gespannt.
A simple but very comprehensive DNA kit for cats.
The first thing to point out is that you will only receive a swab and sterile pouch plus envelope to return the swab to Koko Genetics. The actual value of the kit relates to the service provided by Koko Genetics when the swab sample is processed. The Bolo listing describes the tests performed which are normally available within 4-6 weeks.The kit comprises of a Buccal swab with RapiDri Pouch. The swab needs to be rubbed on the inside cheeks of the cat for one minute, then sealed in the drying bag and sent off.One point to note at this point is that the return envelope is blank, the suggestion on the manufacture's website is that they will email a postage label. This could be a problem if you don't have a printer! (more news on this later)The instructions and registration details are all online, I will update this review when the results have been received.At the moment, all procedures indicated in the instructions are clear and concise, the only issue for me is to swab the cat's mouth for one minute without her chewing and destroying it. But that is more a problem with our cat, not the kit.As mentioned above, this review will be updated when the results are with me.

Reseña provisional porque aún no tengo los resultados, tardan más o menos un mes.El proceso para tomar la muestra ha sido fácil, excepto lo de tomar la muestra con el bastoncillo durante un minuto, mi gato no se está tanto tiempo quieto ni anestesiado, a lo sumo he podido estar veinte segundos. Ya diré si ha sido suficiente cuando lleguen los resultados.Las instrucciones claras y todo bien empaquetado. Lo mandé sin problema y ya me avisaron que se ha enviado correctamente. El análisis se hace en Valencia, por lo que no creo que tarde mucho en llegar.De momento todo correcto, pero actualizaré la reseña cuando me lleguen los resultados para contar si valió la pena o no.
