I myself sharpen all my knives and this one was not an exception. Use it at home for slicing vegetables and meat. I steel it every once in a while and consider it a good knife for this price range.

WOW, love this chef's knife. We use it nearly every day! It is so nice and sharpe, and has a great grip on the handle. What a difference it makes when you use a quality knife, it cuts your prep time in half. It's a big knife, so be careful when using. We get used to using rather dull, useless knives, then we get a very sharpe knife, and WOW, what a difference! You won't be disappointed in the quality of this knife.

Very, very sharp. Slicing paper like in the old commercials sharp. Nicely weighted, evenly balanced, feels heavy, substantial, and comfortable in the hand.

Sharp carving knife
Excellent knife, glides through meat like it's cutting butter, makes carving effortless...but very sharp and slippery if you get grease on your hand or wash it with soap and water, so use a lot of care, could easily go through your hand, still love it, very pleasantly surprised with quality of this knife, weighted well, pleasure to use....I have so many knives I bought over the years for meat carving this is the only one I'm happy with...excellent price too.
