1.0 out of 5 stars The mixer part doesn't work properly
I got this gift for my birthday and I wanted to make ice cream but the mixer part doesn't work properly at all. It won't mix. It won't spin so now I'm using my handheld mixer to make ice cream out of the bowl. I would like a refund.

1.0 out of 5 stars Want some cold liquid cream? This is your product.
Frozen the bowl, put my ingredients in the bowl, ran the blender for 40 min and watched it the whole time. Just cold liquid cream. Not even close to becoming ice-cream.
1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn’t Make Ice Cream
I followed instructions and all it made was a sticky and melted ice cream mess.
Small size is perfect for our family of 3
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Even though summer is almost over, ice cream can be enjoyed anytime. My other ice cream makers are 2qt and I found they were too big for our family of 3 so this 1qt size is perfect. It’s also a lot smaller and takes up less freezer space. I freeze the ice cream bowl in the freezer for about 8 hours, place 500g of yogurt along with a cup of ingredients (berries, bananas + nutella, peanut butter + chocolate, peach + raspberry, lemon, etc.) This ice cream maker is easy to use and each batch takes about half an hour to make. It’s easy to clean afterwards and it’s not too big to store. I like that I don’t need to prepare any ice cubes. The only issue is that the paddle doesn't feel like it’s very high quality and the plastic will break if it’s used a lot over time. Only time will tell how long this ice cream maker will last but I see our family using it every two weeks to make a delicious frozen treat.
Small batch ice cream maker
The media could not be loaded. As hard as this may be to believe, I am not a huge fan of ice cream and usually only enjoy a scoop a couple of times a year at a friend’s or my own birthday. I was wasting money buying cartons of ice cream, not using them in time and then discarding them almost unused.I decided I’d like to control the amount of ice cream I have on hand and to make it myself. I’d also like to hopefully reduce the amount of sugar as well. This Secura ice cream maker is the perfect solution to my problem. Not only am I able to make small batches of ice cream in the flavours I prefer but I can also make other frozen desserts as well.To me it has a retro look about it with its mint green colour and swirled pattern on the base and clear cover. The ice cream maker is simple to use. The most important step (other than your ingredients) is to thoroughly freeze the bowl/base. It is recommended to freeze for 12 hours but I always leave it for 24 hours to make certain it’s as cold as it can be.Freeze your base, add your ingredients and churn (or let the ice cream maker churn for you). In under 30 minutes (closer to 15’ish) you will have ice cream. The ice cream won’t be frozen so you will need to put it in a container and place it in the freezer. It is edible right out of the maker but I recommend freezing it for a longer period of time. The base is round and it can be a little awkward finding space in your freezer for it at times. The base does not have a very large capacity. It can hold about 350ml (1-1/2 cups or 12 ounces) of ingredients which will work out to about 1 quart of product. If you are making a lot of ice cream for a multi-member family, you’ll need to do many batches in order to have enough so this machine probably isn’t a good match. If, however, you are making ice cream for yourself or just two people, this Secura ice cream maker should be sufficient.Priced at $39.00 when ordered in mid September, I feel this is affordable and reasonably priced.
Cute and OK for small batches
This is OK for making small batches and kids would love it... but not suitable if you're a bit more serious about making ice cream at home - there are better options out there.
There are better ice cream makers out there
I ordered this to see if I enjoyed home made ice cream (and the work that goes into it) before I invested in a more expensive ice cream maker. My freezer is usually full, so finding space to store an object this large in there was a chore. Once it spent enough time in the freezer it was a rush to get all the ingredients into the bowl so they could start mixing. My hint is to also store your pre-measured ingredients in the freezer for 30 minutes to an hour before making the ice cream. Starting out with extra cold ingredients makes it work a bit better (but don't freeze them). The instructions were good and it came with some recipes to get you started. I like that you can customize the ingredients to your own taste. I found the amount it makes pretty small, best for a single or a couple, but not a family. I didn't find making ice cream was overly hard, so I would likely invest in a bigger machine, and would suggest that if you know you will be making a lot then also to skip this little guy and get one that suits your purpose. If you only want a small amount of ice cream now and then, and are able to pre-plan when you want it, then this machine is a decent option.
Affordable Quick and Easy Frozen Treats in Non Compressor Machine | Good Value for Money!
The media could not be loaded. This Secura Ice Cream Maker, DIY Visualization Ice Cream Machine for Gelato, Sorbet, Frozen Yogurt, is made of high quality materials. It features Ice cream maker, instruction manual, beginner's guide, removal paddle assembly, freezer base, and locking lid.NOTE: This is NOT a compressor machine so you will have to FREEZE the base for at least 24 hours BEFORE you can make ice cream. Don't overfill the bowl!I make a lot of homemade Keto Gelato, Sorbetto and IceCream. I needed a secondary machine to run multiple batches. This machine is a normal sized capacity for a home frozen treat making machine. If you don't make a lot of gelato or ice cream at home, then this is probably for you.It is very fun once you make your treat base and chill it (at least 24 hours) as well as freezing the base bowl for 24 hours you are ready to add it to the bowl (don't put more than the recommended amount inside), and place the paddle/lid assembly on top, turn on the machine and time it.If you are putting add ins I suggest churning for 20 minutes first so that it is stiff enough or everything goes straight to the bottom. Run it for about 10 min after adding in anything else and then place into your freezer containers. You need to season your frozen treat for at least 24 hours for perfect texture and flavour. You can eat it after a couple of hours but I wouldn't recommend it, for best results. My photographs have my homemade Keto Match Gelato and I used an ice cream freezer container available on Bolo for purchase. This little machine is very easy to assemble / take apart and clean and store. It is good value for money and I recommend this product.
