I got this for my 12 year old. I had to guide him and help balance him the first couple times of use. It does take a little time to get used to, however I feel like he mastered the use of it within about 15 minutes. He did need to build up some confidence before going on his own, but he was rolling all over the house on his own in no time. We have wooden floors and the hoverboard glided smoothly on it. The battery is long lasting. It’s durable and sturdy. It can hold a good amount of weight, so it’s great for kids and teens. My husband tried it given he is close to the weight threshold (175 pounds) and it carried him along just as easily as it did my son, it has a pretty powerful motor. It turned with ease, I was able to control the movement swiftly with my feet. I was surprised with the performance, it has some get up and go and it was much easier to use than I expected. The lights are a great addition and it even has a Bluetooth speaker. The sound quality is great and a very cool feature.

I bought this for my son as a present. The only downside is that it rattles when you speed up. So we got a replacement and that one rattled too. Other than the rattle, we love this hoverboard. It is fast, smooth, responsive, feels well made, and the charge lasts a long time.

Purchased as child's Xmas gift. Love that its multicolor, great quality wheels and love the light features within the wheels on either side horizontally, along with the light additions on the front. As my child rides the hoverboard just glows and the wheel wells change colors...It's seriously so cool! Darn thing is fast and holds a charge well. Does great with detachable go cart hover board seat (recently purchased) and is 30 something year old approved fun!

The media could not be loaded. So far, once they got calibrated, they have worked great and been super easy to use. Almost no learning curve for my ten-year-olds. Decent battery life. They love them.Edited to add (11/24/23): Oh my goodness! These are the absolute most durable little things ever! My girls have been giving them heavy use ever since their birthday last August and they've been nice little workhorses, but now I'm even more impressed. Last week one of my girls left her hoverboard out in the rain. Like, I don't even know how she got it so wet. When we picked it up the water was literally pouring out of it like water from a pitcher. If she had dunked it in a barrel of water I don't think it could have been wetter. I was so sure the poor hoverboard was a goner. But, ever living in hope, we let a fan blow on it for a few days to try and dry it out. Then we charged it up and she turned it on and it started right up, good as new. Seriously, the best value for the money I've had in a really long time!

After much research and deliberation I finally decided to get one of these scooters that just seem to be getting more and more popular by the day. I remember not long ago these were more of a fad because it could only really be used for a short spin or the weight limit was prohibitively low, but take any time on the city blocks and it's clear that all these motorized alternatives to bikes have come a long way. For me this particular one hits that sweet spot between cost and everyday usability as I didn't want to spend too much but also wanted something that was more than just an infrequent leisure item. Getting it ready was very simple, took just a couple of minutes to get the top portion fixed onto the rest of the body and the brake wires in the slots - after that just make sure it's fully charged and away you go.The build and feel of the unit, especially at this price point speaks of solid value. I'm about two hundred pounds and this scooter had no issues carrying me along with some good pep, feeling stable and easy to maneuver at the same time. The folding design works with just a press of the button and fold, making it easy to bring into shops or restaurants. There's something to be said about the convenience of not having to find a place or bike rack to lock it up, or how small and easy it is versus something much larger and cumbersome to move around. It takes up so little space in my small apartment and it's ready to go at with no moment's notice. I couldn't help but smile the first time I took it for a spin, felt like a kid again. Sure it's good for kids and really all ages within the weight limit, but adults might be the ones who really get the most satisfaction out of it. Controls and simple and really it's just a push button for acceleration and the brake, within minutes I felt natural on it and after a evening ride I felt fully confident with it. You have to roll it slightly before the accelerator will kick in, that's to prevent any accidental pushing of the button when noone is on the unit. You can hold the accelerator for ten seconds and it will set up the cruise control, during a night ride with clear lanes it was a joy to just go hands off and enjoy the ride. The distance it's able to go between charges and the achievable top speed will vary depending on the size of the rider, for my significant other who is smaller than me the scooter was pretty much able to get the full limits and for me, while slightly less, still very respectable and more than fast enough especially for city commuting. And yes, if the battery is out you can still treat it as a manual scooter. The tires in person look and feel beefier than expected which helps a lot with dampening the ride. The brakes work well, you rarely have to squeeze it fully as even a slight press will slow it down quite quickly. I've used it daily for the last week or so and it's been so much fun riding it around the city, fast enough to be able to go on the bike lanes.

Customer service highly improved shopping experience

5 star Update:It took a while but GOTRAX contacted me about the problem mentioned in my original review, and presented a solution to it. It seems they have improved not only their QC but more importantly, the customer service. Regardless of the product, I think customer service makes the difference in keeping customers loyal, and it says a lot about a company that wants to make things right. I wouldn't hesitate to buy products from GOTRAX again.After 1 month use, I think I can give an objective review. There are pros and cons. I bought this scooter to avoid using public transportation to go to work. I have used it everyday, except in rainy days. Max speed and range-wise, this scooter delivers what promised (I'm 61 kg), however, it feels underpowered at times because it won't go over 15.7 mph even in downhill, where bikes go much faster. The cruise control is very flawed, it is supposed to engage after holding down the throttle for 10 s, but sometimes it will engage after only 4-5 s, and other times it won't work at all, no matter how long I press it down. But my biggest complain is that it doesn't hold the speed consistently. With the throttle at max, the speed fluctuates between 14 and 15.5 mph and it is very annoying. Also, I'm a bit concern about the durability because it's not the sturdiest scooter out there, but I guess that's according to the price. Overall, for the price I think it's not a bad product, but it would be much better without the speed inconsistency.

Je suis dans le grand nord du quebec, dans un village inuit dans la tundra.Je voulais un vehicule electrique pour transformer ma marche de 10 minutes en balade a trotinette qui me dure environ 2 minutes.Ca fait environ 3 semaines que je l'ai et heureusement tout marche a merveille.J'ai du la mettre de coté pour l'instant car il y a deja trop de neige ou je suis, mais oh que jai eu du plaisir a me balader dans les rues du village sur la gotrax.C'est sur que j'aimerais qu'elle sois plus puissante au niveau de monter les cotes, mais je suis 200+lbs alors ca dois jouer aussi. Je garde le moteur a fond et je pousse avec mon peid pour les cotes trop apiques, mais vu la capacité su moteur c'est tres resonable.Un peu lourde pour certains si on a a la monter de plusieurs marches, mais en la pliant ca deviens plus facile.Le monteur est tres silencieux ! Jadore car je comence a 6h le matin...Une ride bien smooth, mais tu n'ira pas vraiment chercher une dose d'adrenaline la dessus. Ca t'amene ou tu veux sans probleme.Les friens sont bons, la lumiere est tres bonne selon moi.La clochette est.. Un peu inutlile selon moi, mais certains doivent bien aimer ca.Je l'ai meme utiliser dans la gravel et tout foncionne bien jusqua maintenantm je me croise les doights pour ne pas pogner de flat d'ici tot !Je recommande a ceux qui ne recherche pas de dose d'adrenaline et qui souhaite simplement se déplacer librement sans demander de lifts aux amis ;)

Best scooter for the money!

This scooter is sturdy, comfortable and well built! Excellent materials and craftmanship and I can ride the scooter for hours with a full battery! It only takes around 4 hours to fully charge, I just plug it in overnight and I'm set for the next day! if you like that part of it, I’d say purchase this.Easy to set up is a very good feature of it, and easy to control is another. Riding it on uneven or bumpy roads or sidewalks is not that harsh like others said. The scooter is able to fold, so it's easy to carry on my apartment stairs, or to my office, or on the train or bus! If you live in downtown where traffic jam is heavy, this scooter is an amazing tool for you!These days I ride it everyday and haven’t found any problems. Saved me a lot of time on road. Spring is coming, weather becomes warm and I think I cannot live without it!

The worst purchase bar none

saved up my money to purchase this scooter. However, after only a few weeks of use, the back tire unexpectedly deflated. Nevertheless, I remained optimistic and ordered an innertube to fix the issue. The following month, to my surprise, the front tire also deflated. It hadn't even occurred to me that the front tire required an inner tube. Despite the additional expense, I had it promptly repaired. To make matters worse, a couple of months later, the throttle suddenly stopped working. Even though the battery was fully charged, there was no power. I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed with this product.
