LOOKS-CONSTRUCTION-EASE OF INSTALLATION-COST-SHIPPINGLOOKS- This wood mantle looks great, like a pretty railroad tie hanging off my wall. They must ave given the wood a light sandblast or water-blast because the wood grains stand out in a nice way giving it a richer slightly antique look. The color of the stain is pretty good.CONSTRUCTION-Some of these mantles sold here are simple “box” construction where they simply butt the joints in place. Doesn’t look as good as this one where they took the time to bevel the joints and use a piece of end cut wood to form the ends. The results are a piece that looks like a solid piece of wood and not just a slapped together hollow box. (see pics)INSTALLATION- It took me longer to find my level, drill and screwdriver than it did to install this on my wall. Their method is simple and strong.COST- All this quality should cost more than they charge, and I’d you want a mantle that looks like a solid piece of wood than this is the best one to get.SHIPPING- The mantle shipped to my house in only a couple days which arrived faster than expected. It was boxed up securely with lots of styrofoam packing. (Unlike most Prime products I don’t think there’s free return shipping on this so be sure you want this before you order it because the return shipping costs would probably be crazy expensive)Tip; if you want a nice mantle be sure you get one with the “end cut” pieces on the side ends…. and beveled joints or else it’ll look like something made in a Jr. High wood shop.

I was hoping the reviews weren’t right and that the quality problems were just a fluke. I unfortunately got a bad one too. It looks so good otherwise. They used wood filler on several spots but didn’t quite make it in the hole. Unfortunately it’s right in the front. Beautiful otherwise but way too many flaws on the front. 10 to be exact. How was this missed?

Mine arrived in perfect condition... at my neighbor's house, because it shipped via Fed Ex. But eventually I went & got it, unboxed it, and it was flawless. However, I'm giving it 4 stars because the label on the cardboard template was pointing to the wrong side of the template, saying the wrong side was the top. I figured it out pretty quickly, but it might confuse a lot of people.I tossed the hardware it came with, bored out the holes on the French cleat, and mounted it to my brick fireplace with five 3/8" Tapcon screws. Literally 5 minutes after I started, the mantel was in place, and it's just as easy to take down, assuming you move and want to take it with you.

This has been an AMAZING addition to our living room!!! I ended up drilling a hole in the top and bottom to house a power cord in and run all cords from behind the tv into to fix our crazy cord situations. Lightweight, but the cleat felt super secure and I have no concerns about it falling off or hitting my kids. I have some decor sitting on top and even that didn’t put it off balance or make it less stable. I can see some nail holes that were filled weird if I look at it in the right light, but I have to really be focusing on that. Overall, great product and great price.

I'm amazed no only for the quality of the mantel, but for the speedy delivery!!When the package arrived to my front door I was confused because I wasn't expecting a large package until April 8th - 12th, and it arrived on April 3rd! I was a bit doubtful to purchase this because it has very few reviews, but I gave it a try because the price was good compared to other sellers. I'm so happy that I ordered from this seller. The product came super fast, in perfect condition and very well packaged and protected, also it brings instructions. I love this mantel! It was easy to install and it looks beautiful. I stained it a little bit to lower the orange tone and it looks great. We installed it right away. I highly recommend this seller and product.Thank you so very much!
