After 50+ years of wiring every kind of car audio equipment (who, of you, remember hooking up a Kraco power booster to a pair of Jensen 6 x 9s?) and fumbling with twisting wires and trying to secure them into all sizes of connectors, along comes wire ferrules and the crimper.This kit plus a few extra larger ferrules (2 gauge thru 6 gauge) makes a clean solid connection a snap. Instead of stuffing twisted multi strand wire into a connector and trying to hold it securely with a set screw, you can simply crimp a ferrule to accept the wire, then insert the ferrule and tighten the set screw solidly. Voila. Makes for a much more visually appealing install as well.

I used to be an expert in soldering wires. But now I have no depth perception and a noticeable tremor so soldering is almost impossible. I rely on other ways to make connections. Putting these ferrules on the stripped end of the wires makes them more durable and reusable. The crimping tool is terrific. Easy to use even with no depth perception and makes secure crimps every time. I really recommend this set.

Works great! Not for 6AWG wires though. I thought I could squeeze one in there but it won't fit.

I terminate hundreds of stranded wires a week. This makes a very nice crimp and allows for perfect fitting into terminal strips.
