Bought it as a bday gift but might keep it. The stove was on for like 15 seconds and it heat up enough that I had to wait around 5 minutes for it to cool down. Comes with the wicks and seals to stick down and a long spoon to mix or to help that sticking down process. Really nice starting kit. Now searching for the best wax and oils.

I recently bought candle tins and then found this starter kit. I still lack wax and haven't decided which kind I want to start with, but this kit provides everything else. Since I won't be able to try it yet, I would update my review later if I have any particular problems with the function or usage of the burner.The stainless pot is not top-notch quality like something I would buy for kitchen food use, but it should suffice for melting wax. There is some pitting at the bottom of the inner pot, and some rough areas on the pot rim ... I will try sanding the rim a bit later to reduce any potential skin scrapes. For melting wax, I'm assuming this pot can never be completely cleaned out again once left with wax residue. I like that it has a handle that will keep my hand protected from heat transference. The included spoon is pretty cute, but like the pot rim, I need to smooth the edges out a bit because they feel a bit rough.The thermometer is not as nicely built as my frequently used kitchen food digital, but you can see the temperatures are pretty close when side by side. That's a good sign! There is a light layer of plastic film over the control panel which needs to be removed before using; it's easy to peel off. If not removed, it does affect the thermometer reading by a few degrees. I definitely like that it is stored in it's own protective plastic tube, since it does not come with a probe sheath like my other one has.I will save the burner box side panel with the kit for future reference, but once the rubber feet are added to the burner it won't fit back in unless you remove the feet each time. The feet are a good height so the unit will be an adequate distance from the surface it is resting on. The weight is actually substantial, which I hope is a good sign for long-term electrical reliability. I also like that the melting pot fits the entire burner so you are only heating the surface area that needs it.Looking forward to trying this out once I have wax. I have confidence this will be a nice beginner experience, but if it is not ... I will certainly come back later to revise my review accordingly.

Go this as a gift for the wife. She was interested in getting into candle making. Figured the hot pot was a better idea than trying to use a double boiler set up on the kitchen stove, and the dealing with cleaning up the wax after she was done. Safer too, as no fire involved. The only draw back is that the 900ml pot size. Great for small batches, but too small if working with large batches. Otherwise it has everything needed to make candles, except the containers. We wound up using Oui Yogurt jars, as we have lids for them for storage. The heater is actually fairly precise for the different melting points of various waxes. The included accessories were all good quality. Easy to achieve with the included thermometer. The best part is the pour pot. Made of stainless steel for durability, and easy pour with the spout. Some dripping, but excellent control. The mixing spoon is made of thick guage steel to really mix in the essential oils. If she wants to increase production, it would just be a matter of upgarding the pour pot to a larger size.

If I could give no stars I would. I plugged it in and it wiped out my power twice. The outlet I plugged it into sparked twice. I couldn’t use the actually stove waste of money.

This candle making kit is small but it is just what I needed. The electric heating plate has 5 speeds or temperature settings. Let me tell you, I use it to melt beeswax which takes a loooong time to melt and this melts it almost instantly. The kit came with a great thermometer and a pouring metal pot. The handle does not get hot. Also, I work inside, in a basement and this does not smoke at all, considering i use it to make soaps and work with different kinds of oils. I absolutely love the little spoon and love the additional candle wicks with the stickers and stick holders, in case i ever want to try making candles, I already have everything I need. I wish they sold additional pots to work on different colors at the same time, but other than that, this is a fantastic set.

placa calentadora mala calidad
compre el paquete porque se me hizo justo el precio pero apenas iba a empezar a usar la placa caliente cuando se trono el cable, no duro ni 15 min prendido, saco chispa y se rompió el cordón, lo bueno que me di cuenta y no paso a mayores, me di cuenta que el cable conector viene demasiado frágil y por eso se reventó. No puedo devolverlo porque si ocupe la jarra, termómetro y mechas pero la placa calentadora de muy mala calidad.
