I don't like that the pieces only work if you have decent lighting in the room, I had to look up the puzzle online to find out why the pieces didn't work most of the time. Each puzzle piece has a sensor as well as the board that only works when decent lighting is around. For example it may not work in the evening with just lamps in the home. This is very disappointing for a two-year-old. As a grandparent I was frustrated too.

This item is defective. It does not work. I put batteries and it didn't work. I thought maybe there was an issue with the batteries but I bought brand new batteries and it still is not working. Still a good puzzle my daughter loves puzzle. But it doesn't make any sounds.

I know people say the sound doesn’t work consistently. It does. You just need appropriate lighting. My house doesn’t have great lighting, and that makes it hard for the mechanism to work if we play on the floor. I can either shine a flashlight on it, or I have my child play at her Elmo table and it works perfectly. She loves it and sings the songs. She is thrilled to have control to start and stop the songs. Prior to this puzzle, she did not do well with other puzzles. The pieces are well done and have allowed her to learn how to complete simple puzzles.

Love this had it since December and it’s still in great shape. It has definitely seen its fair share of playing but the sound is still great and it’s at a fair price.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my 21 month old daughter because she loves Ms. Rachel and puzzles. As indicated it only works in the light. I had to turn my living room lights on in order for it to work. Also it needs two AAA batteries. Although it's brand new it already looks a little worn. But all in all my daughter doesn't notice the flaws and loves it. Also, only plays part of the songs. My daughter was a little disappointed that the whole song didn't play and got bored after 10 minutes. Not worth full retail price but good if you get it on sale. The colors are bright and size great for her little hands.

The puzzle was much looked forward to by my Toddler. When we first got it and placed new batteries in, it would not work. We put another set of new batteries in, and it still did not work. We let it sit overnight in a pile to be returned, then randomly at midnight we heard it go off.We have learned like other reviewers have learned that the puzzle needs to be in direct light so that when a piece is removed, the sensor can pick it up and then play the required song. Also, the pieces are quite thin and our daughter has started to ruin the pieces already even though it's only a week old by putting them in her mouth.

I could probably give this a three star because it still functions as a normal puzzle but if not in direct light or bright light the sounds do not work. When opening in Christmas morning (while still gloomy) we originally thought it was broken. New batteries and all my daughter was so upset when it didn’t work and I promised to get her a new one. But I preordered this back in October and my return date had passed by a month come Christmas night. Come to try out the 26th in her room that has much brighter lights it does work just not in our living room…. Lovely. Anyways I gave it two stars to get people to think about spending a good chunk on this expensive puzzle before buying it.

This puzzle is super easy for my toddler’s fingers to use and manipulate. Each piece is a perfect size for a toddler’s hand to play with. The wooden pieces are made strong enough to withhold natural toddler wear and tear.Unfortunately I can only give it 3 stars because the sound on my puzzle wasn’t working correctly. I was super disappointed since it didn’t seem worth the money due to the lack of educational value that was missing with the missing music. However, customer service was great at working with me to come to a solution.

Great songs with good technology
The media could not be loaded. When I first received the item, I expected the sound to play once it was attached, but it actually works differently. The sound is triggered when the picture is removed, and any picture can activate the sound when waved over the engraved area. I really love the technology and the sound quality! However, I do feel it’s slightly overpriced, especially since the sound stopped working after it wasn’t used for a while.
Puzzle pieces don’t make sound regularly
They work the odd time but not consistently very frustrating for little ones and those that spent money on purchasing it
