The Axial-tech fan design is a game-changer—keeping the card cool even under intense loads, and the 0dB technology makes for a whisper-quiet experience during lighter workloads. The HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a provide versatility for high-resolution monitors, and the steel bracket adds durability that gives me peace of mind. ASUS has nailed the balance of power, efficiency, and reliability in this card. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly RTX 30-series GPU with excellent performance, this one is a solid choice.Highly recommended for gamers and creators alike.
5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed
I built my computer a few years ago with an intel 11400 CPU, and I was just using the integrated graphics. But the other day I tried to play a Windows game that would barely play, so I decided to finally get a GPU.I got the 3050 6GB OC (overclock) edition. It's nice that the 6GB models do not require a power connection to the power supply. They are just powered by the PCI slot, so that's nice it saves a little work. A guy on here had a review talking about needing an 8 pin connector, but I later realized he had purchased the 8 GB card, and not a 6GB card.Installation was very easy. Took off plastic on outside face and then plastic on the metal ports. Removed the plastic plug cover for the HDMI port, I left the other 2 port plugs in there. Before installing into motherboard there's a plastic cover to remove on the GPU's connector strip where you plug it into the motherboard. Then just remove 2 of the little strip panels on your computer's case, and use the 2 screws to secure the GPU.Once I got the computer running I went to Nvidia.com to download the driver and app (comes in one download if you select that). They give you the option of using either a "gaming driver" or "studio driver". Even though I'll play some games I chose to use the studio driver, it seems a little more stable and I'll also be using creativity/productivity apps.I am overall happy with this GPU so far, I think it will fit my needs and it's budget friendly. I was surprised there are not really any good GPU options around $100 new. For example a GPU about half as good as this for $100, it doesn't exist. The GPUs that are around $100 new aren't even worth getting for example the GT 1030.I seen a lot of guys online saying this 3050 isn't as good as the 28% better AMD 6600 card for $200. But none of them say or keep in mind that Nvidia cards are generally better for creative software programs, and even AI stuff I hear. While the AMD card might give you a little more bang for the buck for gaming, that's about its only advantage. So for me I'm choosing Nvidia all day since I'm not only playing games with my GPU.
5.0 out of 5 stars 6GB memory and no external power required.
I got this card as an inexpensive replacement for an NVidia Geforce GT 730 that died. I don't do gaming, but I do some video editing. So far this card is working well. With 6GB of memory, I think it will be fine for my needs. Also, it doesn't require any more power than what is supplied by the motherboard slot, which was a requirement for me. So far it's fast and smooth. I can't speak to how well it works with any games, but for the day to day stuff, it's great so far!
4.0 out of 5 stars Currently running in an x4 pcie slot... An x4.... Pcie... 3.0 😅
Soooo I got an optiplex 7070 on eBay for ~80 shipped, no SSD. Got a SSD for 15$ and a USB for windows11 install for $5? The problem becomes that the card is situated in a way that the fans blow at the power supply in the sff, and on TOP of that, the card/motherboard have a compatibility/clearance issue for these dell optiplex sff's, the only way to fit this card is in the x4 slot. This is already a pcie 3.0, so bandwidth drop is probably going to be killer..(on me, it's my first card, for my first "build" that's not even going to live in my house.)That said, it works great, loaded up the Minecraft world that I was getting ~110 fps with some drops prior to install, was getting around 250+ fps with the graphics card, on java, fancy graphics, think 15 chunk? Render distance. This pc will probably be used to play game pass PC games, modded Minecraft, probably some fortnite festival/clone hero or whatever the PC game is, my brother is into all that rhythm game stuff.Specs: Dell optiplex 7070 sffIntel i5-9500This graphics card, low profile.8gb ram250 GB nvme m.2 (sn550 wd) SSDStock mobo, cooler, PSU, case.. so far. 😅 I may recase the "build" to get access to that x16 slot (I believe this is an x8 4.0 card, running currently at x4 3.0) so even just a little more bandwidth would most certainly have some gains to offer. So far so good, don't buy this one if you have an optiplex, unless you are certain your x16 slot is on the top.
5.0 out of 5 stars Plug & Play
Plug & play just switched the HDMI to the video card HDMI after plugging it in & it's ON! The frame rates on Fallout 4 Ultra settings 1080p are smooth as can be & the flames didn't cause any studders. The whole scene from the start is without any slowdowns at all. Halo Infinite with 0 slow down on low settings at 1080p.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this card. Affordable upgrade for older machines that don't have an 8 PIN power connector.
I love this card. I had an older GTX 1050 TI PCI 16, V3, and I didn't have a 8 prong power cable connectors on my motherboard to install a higher end card. I thought about getting adapter cables but then realized the SATA cables are not made to carry that much current, plus my power supply is only 300W. This card is perfect. Even though it's PCI V4, it's backward compatible and the card fit perfectly in my smaller case.Installed in seconds and is reasonably quiet. Great card for the money. My games are much faster now, take less time to load, and are more brilliant and vivid. I am loving it.
Great video card.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This video card is over kill for most of my work load which is primarily doing photo restoration and video compilations. I rarely do any gaming. I also do a lot of genealogy work and this card is very fast, colour accurate and runs everything without any glitches or down time.
Works like a charm
bought to support my new HDR1000 monitor, not intended for gaming.
