You just have to pop the tube into a window and other than that there is not much else to do. It did get our 10x12 basement room down to 65 degrees. Occasionally I had to empty the water build up but the instructions were clear and it was only monthly upkeep. It is pretty quiet for being inside my bedroom, no louder than a white noise machine to sleep.
5.0 out of 5 stars Small size with a mighty punch!
After looking and looking for a portable unit, I had it narrowed down between this one, Coolbus and 2 others. I choose this one for the fact it was much smaller than the other bulky ones and kicked out 10,000 BTUs and less expensive than the others. Took a shot and chose it and very glad I did! This unit when arrived was a perfect size and not so heavy to pick up like so many of the others. It really blows out some nice cold air where you can actually feel it 20' away not a joke! I'm sold! My only critique would be 1 extra panel for the window and some weather strip. I Had to go out and buy some. I wonder if they have panels for sliding glass doors, that's where I want to put it because my one window is so high up, I had to stack it on some boxes. So, all in all well worth the purchase, Happy Customer.
1.0 out of 5 stars Don’t do it!
I bought this to replace a portable a/c for a 32x22 brick room with excellent insulation. It sucks! It has not kept the room as cool as the 10,000BTU unit I replaced. I have a 18” fan directly in front of it to move the air and another fan on the other side of the room to circulate it. Same set up I had with the previous unit. The far side of the room is warm. The only place it’s cool is directly in front of the unit. The whole room in fact is not as cool as it should be.I have it set on high fan, and the lowest number for degrees, which is 16???? It doesn’t have normal degree numbers such as 62. It only blows out of one side as there is a plate of some kind blocking one side. Overall I’m highly disappointed with this unit and should have returned it. I was just hoping once the room got cool, it would continue to keep it that way being a brick building. Oh yeah, the tube for the window sucks too. Very thin compared to the one I had and falls off easily from the window panel. And the window hardware has to be cut to fit. I used duct tape to hold it together and punched holes in the window hardware then inserted a screw to keep it sized. Waste of money and time.
5.0 out of 5 stars A cool purchase
When I bought this air conditioner I was a little afraid it would not do the job. I have a 10 by 20 foot room attached to a travel trailer. It is where we spend the majority of our home time. The tv and my desk are in it and in the summer, which we are beginning to enter, the room can get extremely hot and uncomfortable. I unpacked the unit and set it up according to the instructions. It was fairly easy to do. I turned it on and to my surprise very cool air started coming out. Within a few minutes the room started to cool down and become quite comfortable. It has been over a month now and I can say this has been one of my best purchases from Bolo. We love the air conditioner and would recommend it to anyone who has a room or two that need to be cooled down. We've already has very hot days and the room has always stayed quite cool. We love it.
4.0 out of 5 stars It works well to cool a room
Works great for cooling rooms. The dehumidifier works ok could be better. But over all its a good product.
3.0 out of 5 stars Operates okay, some issues
We live in stifling hot Arizona. I have central air, but it can use some help in my south facing rooms that also get heated by the direct sunlight. My master bedroom is one of these rooms. In July when daily temps are 110 or more, my central air struggles to keep the house at 80. When we go to bed, our room is often still up at 82 or more. While I would love to be able to get an energy audit and a newer and more efficient HVAC unit, that's not in our financial cards right now. So, I supplemented the A/C in our room with this portable unit. Even though our room is within the square footage quoted, it also seems to struggle against the intense heat and sunlight. The even bigger issue is the air exhaust hose fits poorly on both ends - the window vent and the attachment to the unit. The hose pops off repeatedly, pouring hot exhaust back into the room. Even when it stays attached for a few hours at a time, the hose radiates heat back into the room and is warm, almost hot to the touch. So much, that I had to order an exhaust hose insulating wrap. This helps, but the weight of the wrap makes the hose fall off the connections to the unit and the window vent even more often. To address this, I taped the connections, but my household packing tape dried up from the heat and the hose started falling off again. So, now I have a velcro strap around it and I've ordered special heat resistent HVAC tape to jerryrig in place an exhaust hose that should have been better designed to stay connected in the first place!Even if this A/C unit was fantastic (I would say it's average), the hose issue is frustrating enough for me to recommend looking for some better option. My opinion is its a poor value as is, but could be a good value if the exhaust hose was better designed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Set Up, and Effective~
It took me 20 minutes to set it up, but that mainly because I am an idiot and kept letting the locking mechanism get stuck underneath where it should have gone. I bet this would take no longer than 10 minutes to set up regularly. The fact it cools down to 61F is a Godsend for me, who lives in Arizona. 110F is hard to afford for the entire house to be cooled, but just my room and my office? That's all I need, and this works perfect for that. The remote is great to have, easy to turn off or on, change the temp, and there's a timer function too, but I probably won't use it too much. For it's price point, I would definitely say this is worth it. Showed up 6 days early too, saving me a few hot days~
