5.0 out of 5 stars Strong and Efficient Unit!

I was expecting something so compact to be moderately effective, but this really did a good job. There is one room of my house that gets much more sun on summer afternoons than the rest, and it always gets much warmer than the rest of the house. I set this little unit up in there and it got the temperature down fast. The internal fan is surprisingly strong and circulates the air very well - much better than my old window unit. I also have to add about the dehumidifying setting. That room also gets quite humid, especially when it rains. Well, during a recent storm I decided to test the dehumidifying function - and it did extremely well - the air was much drier and it removed a whole bowl of water from the air in just a couple hours of running! I definitely recommend for anyone in need of a small, portable, but very powerful AC unit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Arctic Cold
I live in an apartment on the second floor, and I spend 90 percent of my time in the bedroom. It's where I watch TV, study, exercise, and of course sleep. Prior to buying this a/c I had a window air conditioner, that worked just great. It was powerful enough to cool my whole apartment if I left the bedroom door open. The problem was that because it was so heavy, I had to leave it in the window the whole summer, which mean that I had to use it even when it wasn't all that warm outside as this was the only window I could really get a breeze coming through. Now I can take the window attachment out of the window and put a box fan during the not so hot days. With the window a/c I had to basically run it 24 hours a day, seven days a week all summer long. I've already removed the window attachment just about every day. I live in Minnesota, and although it gets hot during the daytime, it usually cools off in the evening. This a/c was easy to set up, which took about five minutes. It cools off my whole bedroom and walk-in closet in about 10 minutes, and my whole apartment in about 20 to 30 minutes, even at nearly 700 square feet, it cools down very nicely My concern that the air wouldn't be a cold as a window air conditioner was unwarranted. As far as noise, it makes about the same amount of noise as my window a/c, in fact, I think it's probably even less.Unlike a lot of reviewers, I will not emphatically say a person should or shouldn't buy something, since peoples experiences with things are different. I will say that this a/c has fulfilled all my expectations and then some.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works good, cools my bedroom. Bye Bye window rattlers. Got this for my dog.
Works excellent so far, cools my small bedroom with no issues. Got tired of the window rattlers, so went portable.I always hated the window AC's that block up the whole window and are loud. And also doesn't allow my dog look outside. So I bought some portable AC's this year. This one works great in my small bedroom. Runs efficient and not overly loud. On high fan it's definitely not quiet, but not as loud as a small window ac.I also have grow tents so need the fresh/dry/cool room whenever possible. Note that on fan mode it still blows air out the ducting, which means it has dual fans inside, which is a good thing.I highly recommend buying a automatic condenser pump (as pictured) when using any portable AC's so there is no worrying about the tank filling up and the AC shutting off.I've only used this AC for a few weeks, so can't attest to it's true lifespan. I know portable AC's, can fail more often then window ac's, leaving you are stuck with a 50+ lbs item you are burdened to ship back.At this price it's a good deal. If I get 2-3 summers out of it then I will feel I got what a paid for.I may edit this review as time goes on.
4.0 out of 5 stars Overall good product with some minor issues for consideration
Works well but overall a noisy unit. My prior window model was much quieter. The noise isn’t unpleasant but you can’t hear the tv in the same room without turning the volume way up. The instructions could have been clearer. The window panel could be improved. It isn’t long enough for tall window frames and the hose attachment gets cut into by the window frame because there isn’t enough of a lip.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a dream!
It has worked better than expected. Compact, super easy to install, white noise is great for sleeping, but not excessive. Fabulous value for the money. No leakage yet (although some directions would have been helpful). You do need a nice sized bucket or water jug, because it can be empty for days then suddenly fills. While the climate is moderate where I live (rarely hits 90 degrees), this really takes the edge off; and, with the help of fans, keeps our whole apt cool. I've only used it about a month so far, but I highly recommend it.
