The Pit Boss is everything a work boot should be: Safe, tough and really comfortable. First off, the steel toe construction meets ANSI safety standards and offers a roomier toe box than other boots. This means no foot pain even after long hours of hard work. You've also go an unsurpassed traction-grip for working on wet or slippery surfaces and electronic hazard protection to keep you safe from open circuits. On the comfort front, a removable sock liner proves blisters don't have to go hand-in-hand with hard work. And finally, these boots aren't anything if they aren't tough. Go ahead, just try and wear them out.

He works in a wastewater treatment plant and he says these boots are just night and day different than some of the cheaper brands he tried before. He hasn't compared them to any of the other big name brands, but the sub $100 types that you might find at walmart or similar he says just do not last nearly as long. He thinks that it's worth the extra dough to get decent boots that fit. Now granted, he may just be saying all this because I bought them as a gift for him and it is way cheaper to him for me to buy good boots than him to buy cheap ones! But seriously, he's a big fan and I bought him this second pair for next Christmas.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great boots. Much better than the expensive Red Wings I have. Well built and very durable.
Updated June 2023:It's been 3 years and 4 months since I got these Timberland Pro boots and I'm happy to report that they are still going strong. I work construction and wear them almost every day. I use Odor Eaters work boot insoles which I change every 3 months + another soft foam insole + the original insole and they are very comfortable. I got the boot a half size larger so it fits well with the extra insoles and I've never had blisters even when roofing. Roofing can be torture to your feet (and boots) because you are working on a slope so there are constant lateral forces on the bottoms of your feet. While the soles have worn some they are by no means worn out. The leather is still in very good shape other than a gouge on the toe of the right boot. It's just cosmetic as no water gets in through it. The stitching is top notch no rips or pulled out stitches. I figure that I'll get another 3 years or more from these boots.I did have a lace break and in a pinch I superglued it. I planned on getting new laces but haven't because I'm cheap and lace works fine. Superglue also works good on shoelace tips that are fraying.I treated the boots once with Never Wet for boots. I was expecting that water would bead up and roll off "like water off a ducks back", but it didn't really bead up although water doesn't really soak in.I would also like to note that I previously purchased a pair of these boots that were slightly too small. I wore them for a while but a couple of times after jamming my toes jumping down I got these a half size bigger. So I tossed them in the garage and planned to give them to Goodwill. Of course I forgot until about a year ago when I ran across them all dusty in the garage. Oddly the heals had deteriorated and were soft and crumbly. Not the bottom sole, just the foamy rubber rubber above it. I have read many reviews about this being a problem with Timberline boots. But this appears that Timberline has remedied the problem as my current pair has lasted a long time.Older review: Got a good deal on the through Bolo Warehouse. The description said there were minor blemishes but I couldn't find any. I'd just seen a pair someone was selling on Craigslist for $80 in slightly used condition. I paid $60 for these and they are new. They look new, smell new, and fit great. Some days I get home burned out and I've fallen asleep with these on. Just like a pair of slippers! Well okay that may be a little excessive. Just call it the Trump effect... The boots are great though no bovine doo key here... umm well I gotta watch what I say or I get an email from Bolo saying I was bad and violated someone in their department that looks for violations. They should put a list out of the words they allow cuz really it wasn't that bad. Did I mention the boots are great?
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice boot but runs narrow for sure
Wanted to buy a medium use work boot before all the tariffs hit and face it, unless you want to pay 3 or 4 Benjamin's, what you get is going to be imported. I had a pair of Timberland's from way back but they were a version with the sole that was secured with adhesive only. They are still good boots but the soles have come loose. I plan on fixing them with some shoe cement but in the meantime, wanted another pair for to have alternative and to have when the originals finally do wear out.Overall, it seems like a well made mid-level work boot. Goes on easy and laces up and ties well enough. With my limited use, it's going to take a while to break these in and I will actually have to get some fresh socks to pad me feet some until they do stretch out a bit.The one complaint, and it's a pretty significant one is that, these boots are running quite narrow in the toe area. I ordered an 11 Wide and that size fits me well in any other shoe / boot I have purchased. My toes feel squeezed in these and if I hadn't already worn and scuffed them, I would be tempted to return for a larger size but I am hopeful they will relax over time as I continue to wear them.I considered ordering an 11-1/2 but that would give my heel area too much room to waggle around and I really didn't want that. They are not too heavy and I haven't tested out the waterproof feature yet and probably won't for a while.I will update this review after a few months of wearing them to advise on how it fits after a period of break in.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Boots!
Fit perfect, look great, super comfortable. Thanks! I think the reviews saying they are "narrow" do not know their boot size.
5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly as pictured
UPDATE: we’re now over 2 months in and my husband says they now feel fully broken in and very comfortable. He likes that they didn’t break in so quickly because it feels sturdier and more durable. He’s not wearing shoe insoles and says he doesn’t even notice. He’s a mechanic and walks in concrete everyday and even wears them to work out in the yard and they’ve held up very well so far. Once they break I’ll update the review to see how long they officially last but hopefully that won’t be until years from now. But so far they are 10/10 highly recommend!ORIGINAL REVIEW: They just arrived- look exactly as pictured! My husband was needing new steel toe work boots but something that can still be worn out after work if need be with casual clothing and these fit the bill. They’re very sturdy, nice quality and my husband says they are comfortable on the his feet. The only thing is that they are very stiff so they will need to be broken in.

Good looking boots
Disheartened with poor range and service In stores I Did online research and expected to run small - snug but not too short. Quality looks ok - researching domestic all reviews crritize quality - these look good and less chunky than some boots. Hope brand is as good in boots as with casual shoes. Also came from US in under a week.
Very well made and comfortable; sturdy. Look great
I bought these for my son who works outdoors and he is very pleased with them. He likes the suede finish, the fit, the comfort, the durability for a worker who wears them daily in rough use. They fit true to size although hs feet are on the narrow side. He said he didn't even need to break them in - that the fit was perfectly comfortable from the first day. He trusts them for safety as the steel protection is where it ought to be for maximum protection and comfort. This was a very good buy and definitely worth the price.
The boots are great
I was having major foot pain from my old boots, so I started researching the top work boots. Timberland Pro Pit Boss kept coming up very high on the list, so I decided to try them. They Felt really good out of the box and I wore them for a full day of work on the first day with no problem. The biggest thing I was looking for was comfort since my last boots were seriously uncomfortable. I have to say thank you Timberland for making a good product that is everything it's advertised to be.
