I appreciate the ingredients as well. ✌🏼

My go to vegetarian protein powder. Great taste. I have subscribed I like it so well. I usually mix it with fat free Greek yogurt or milk. I also use it in protein ice cream. (I am not vegetarian, I just do not like eating a lot of animal proteins because of the saturated fat content.) This is the only vegetarian protein that doesn’t upset my stomach.

I intended this as a simple question, not as a review. But my question did not seem to fit within the the character limit permitted for Q&A. So I have expanded it for greater clarity (after wasting time to try and make it “short enough” as a question in the Q&A)…Few seem to be aware that there are 2 versions of this product on this web page - “CHOCOLATE” and “DARK CHOCOLATE.” Those who have noticed and asked? They don’t get a good enough answer - they don’t cover what I wanted to know, anyway.To see what I mean, please scroll up and click on the 2 sizes for this product (1.1 Pound and 2.4 Pound). You’ll get two different “labels”…The 1.1 Pound is “DARK CHOCOLATE”) while the 2.4 is “CHOCOLATE.” That may sound like a small thing to many, but “dark chocolate” is different from “regular” chocolate. Also, clicking on the 1.1 Pound size causes the description to change - it uses the word “dark” several more times.So there IS a deliberate difference, at least for as long as the company chooses to communicate the merits of these 2 sizes differently, looking like 2 different products. Up to now, I did not care because the taste was always great - a rich, real “dark chocolate.”Recently, though, I received my latest (7th) shipment from Bolo. I noticed something different. The next part is from memory because I don’t have the previous contained to compare wording…The word “dark chocolate” does not appear anywhere on the new packaging - not even “chocolate.” It may have appeared on the wrapping that I tore away from the cap, I don’t know (threw it out, too). But it does not appear anywhere else.Also, when I read the rest of the package, the language seems more clinical in places, although that may just be my bias wondering what happened to the proud use of the world “dark chocolate.”Anyway, all this only REALLY mattered when I tasted the latest shipment. GONE is that rich dark chocolate taste that I loved so much.That taste was so wonderfuil that it helped me understand how some pro athletes say, “I can’t believe they pay me to play this game.” Well, I couldn’t believe that this rich chocolate taste was actually good for me!What about this new taste?😖😫🥲And those are the kinder emojis. It was bitter, metallic, chemical. I was thrown all the way back to the competitors that I had tried previously.If I’m getting this taste because this how the “chocolate” version is supposed to taste (i.e., it is not the “dark chocolate”), well, they need to communicate that more clearly.On the other hand, if they have changed the formulation, we have a bigger problem.Am I alone in this? I can see that a few others have noticed the difference (between the 1.1 and 2.4 Pound sizes). It has never been well explained, so if anyone can add to this, I’m sure many would appreciate it.But now there may be a bigger issue - what happened to my rich dark chocolate taste? Am I alone in that, too? Just a bad batch?I have to give this 1* for now because this “review” (for lack of being able to ask a question) comes from the bad taste, which is present for whatever “version” I received.

I use the on te go shakes already but have been leary of powder. This is very good! Really impressed with the flavor and how well this blends. Its not chalky at all. Probably the best non-dairy mix that I've tried.

I am gluten and dairy free, but really needed to find a protein powder that could help me meet my daily protein goal. This powder is phenomenal and I highly recommend it for people with dietary restrictions, who are also actively working on building and sustaining muscle strength.This is what I do to make the best protein shakes. I put 2 cups of protein almond milk in a blender. Then I add two scoops of the Owyn chocolate protein powder and 2 Tbs of peanut butter powder. I also add about half of a banana and 3/4-1 cup of ice. I blend that all together. It tastes like a chocolate, peanut butter, and banana milkshake. So good! The best part is, it’s less than 500 calories and has 54 grams of protein. This one shake alone gives me almost half of my protein each day. Try it for yourself!

I bought this cause it gad 30g of protien, low on carbs, no bad ingredients, and very good price.But after trying this and another brand in chocolate falvor, I can say that plant based proteins taste bad in chocolate and good in vanilla. I will give the Vanilla try and see. For now am going to hate it every time I drink it. Thank God I only need to drink it during fasting days!

I've been using OWYN Pro Elite Vegan Protein (Dark Chocolate) consistently since December 2024 and have been very happy with it. The flavor is great, it mixes well, and I love that it’s plant-based with zero sugar. I've recommended it to several people and even shared some with a friend who’s into fitness—he was instantly hooked.However, the most recent batch I received (June 2025) had a noticeable change. Both containers had a strong yeast-like odor and the shake was much foamier than usual. I tested each one multiple times, and the result was consistent. I’m not a chemist, but it feels like there may have been too much probiotics added by accident.To Bolo’s credit, they issued a refund promptly, but I do think this particular batch should be tested or recalled. It’s clearly different from what I’ve received in the past.That said, I’m still a fan of OWYN and plan to continue using it once this batch cycles out. I just hope the company looks into this quality issue and ensures it was a one-time slip.

Minimal nasties and maximum flavour
I really like this chocolate plant-based protein powder. While the macros aren't the best out there (slightly higher sugar and lower protein than I would like), the taste is superior. It is very hard finding good-tasting vegan protein with minimal ingredients. This will help me manage my cravings for something sweet while supporting nutrition goals

Most vegan proteins have stevia or other sweetners which I hate. I find sweetner way too sweet. Took me a while to find a good protein. Not sugary and hormone free. Very expensive but worth it

Has a really strange taste and huge container used to package. Only about half full. Does fill you up though and is gluten free.
