I watched the movie with my family about a week ago. I know a lot about the games and their lore, though only a little about the books, so I figured it was going to be weird, campy, and maybe a little boring. I was kind of wrong as it turned into something weird and twisted but not boring. It seemed to follow the lore, add to it, and it all made sense. Seeing MatPat was funny and the actors all did pretty good. The story really rested on Josh Hutcherson’s shoulders and he made it work. And the animatronics seemed to be real suits not computers graphics that won’t hold up in a few years. I also liked how the story unfolded and we didn’t get data dumped on us. It became a somewhat serious story and that was a great surprise! Five out of five!

As a fan of animatronics, this movie is EXCELLENT. Non gory! Great story! Can’t wait for the sequel!

This was a really great movie. It was well worth the price. It’s not for the entire family as it is a scary movie. Parental advisory and caution with that of course. But enjoyed on my end.

Couldn’t believe Josh Hutcherson was playing a dad character. I’m getting too old! This was a good watch and portrayed five night’s at Freddy’s backstory very well. Was able to connect to all of their characters and enjoy some scary moments. Once you get over the five night at Freddy’s puppet looking bodies it’s good. Give it a try!

I had very low expectations coming in with the track record of movie adaptions of games being the cause. I don't know any lore from FNAF or anything from this IP. I played this game a few times a long time ago. So all this shaped my expectations coming in. Meaning they were quite low. I do like campy horror/comedy flicks. Even if they are bad. Sometimes because they are bad. As long as I tried not to keep everything straight and poke holes in the plot, this movie was entertaining enough. I would wait for it to stream and I probably won't watch again. Its been a couple months since watching and it's not very memorable. For something just to watch or put on in the background this movie will suffice. Looking for anything more than you are likely to suffer. 3 stars because it just barely exceeds my expectations, but my expectations were so low to begin with. Without my expectations I would give 2 stars.

I never played the game but this is a solid movie. I had already seen it but I rented it so my boyfriend could watch it and he felt so so about it. It’s all about your body reference.
