There's no mistaking the taste and quality of the Royal Dansk Cookies here - and they come packaged in two "flats" that keep them very fresh, so that's fantastic! Unfortunately, they also come in a box (versus the classic metal tin that I know from my youth growing up). With Bolo's reduced packaging, the box wasn't very protected and nearly every one of the stacks had broken cookies in them.Now... these are for me, so I'm not really going to complain too much about it - I'll happily eat the cookie "bits" in this case. But if I were presenting this to someone as a gift, it would have easily failed the shipping test. Where that's Bolo's fault or Roal Dansk's fault is unclear. The inner packaging and the outer carton are both just simple cardboard, so easy to get squashed on an Bolo truckload of other goodies. :(But again: The butter cookies taste fantastic -- if not better -- than I remember from the ones that come in a tin!

These cookies are buttery and delicious and just how I remember them. I was expecting there to be a little tin inside the box, but these come in two foil wrapped cardboard packs. My cookies were all unbroken and very fresh just as I had hoped. I can see that these may not stay fresh as long in these packs as they would in a resealable tin, but my family devoured these before that was an issue! I love that each pack has 4 flavors of cookies and they are all delicious, but the coconut is definitely my favorite. They have a crunshy texture at first, but then they melt in your mouth. I love that these have no artificial junk in them and are made with simple ingredients. That's rare in desserts these days and is something I appreciate. I am happy with the freshness and quality of these and think it's a good value for the money. I think this is a great way to buy these delicious cookies for someone who has no use for a tin. I would purchase these again, and I also think they would make a nice gift.

This box is a new format I haven't seen before, and it's a great way to honor the craving for these butter cookies without the full metal tin they oftentimes come in. Cookies were fresh, delicious, and the perfect level of soft and tasty. However, because it's a box with two sealed foil bags inside, some cookies may break in transit. This didn't diminish the enjoyability, but be aware that it could potentially happen, so if you're going for something to sit out and be pretty for guests, you may have to set aside some broken cookies more than the round tin tends to have. I didn't care - these were delicious and my family and I enjoyed them immensely. It's great to see an alternative package option!
