She’s athletic, has a high prey drive, and a dominant personality. When I first started walking her, she was leash reactive — and honestly, if I were tied to my siblings with a rope, I’d be reactive too (just sayin').Before I go further, it’s worth noting that I also use an invisible fence system with two of my dogs. It gives a warning beep followed by a static correction if they cross the boundary. This keeps them from escaping under or over a fence they could easily breach.I’ve tried other electric collars in the past, but the battery life was terrible, the beep was barely audible, and the vibration was so weak it might as well not have existed. This collar solves all those issues. The battery lasts, the beep is nice and loud, and the vibration is strong enough to actually be useful — all for about the same price as the underperforming ones I used before.When I first began using it on walks, I’d tap the beep function whenever my dog showed signs of reactivity. To my surprise, she would immediately tune in and calm down — a cause-and-effect I didn’t expect. As her behavior improved, I transitioned to using the beep mainly when she started to pull on the leash. If she pulled hard, I’d use the static correction at level 5 out of 99. It’s mild — she just pauses and shakes her head like there’s a fly on her ear.If she gets too focused on another dog, or a rabbit she wants to chase, a quick tap of the shock button brings her attention back to me. It’s a gentle nudge, not a punishment, and it works.One thing I want to highlight is that this collar hasn’t caused any anxiety, which is something I was initially concerned about. I think part of that is because I always walk my dogs on a leash — they know they’re with me, and the correction feels more like a guided reminder than an isolated shock. There’s no panic or distress, just refocused behavior.The collar unit itself is user-friendly — the buttons are large and easy to find without looking, and changing settings mid-walk is simple. It’s also fairly durable. I dropped it once on the sidewalk and it held up fine. That said, I wouldn’t call it rugged — it’s not encased in rubber or built for extreme abuse.In terms of comfort, it’s decent. My dogs don’t seem to mind wearing these collars as long as they fit snugly. If the collar slips around, the prongs can irritate the skin, but I haven’t had any issues with this collar or with the invisible fence ones I use.

I haven’t had a situation come up to see if it really has a 4 mile radius or not.I can say that I have not ever had an issue with connection.I don’t have to use the shock a lot at all really. There are 8 different noise settings and there are at least 8 different vibrations if not more.I can also say that the shock on 1 doesn’t do anything that affects my dog. Almost like it doesn’t shock him on the first setting. Once it is on 2 he feels it. I have only ever turned it up to 3 personally, my boyfriend will turn it up higher occasionally. Only because we have a pit bull and he is a little over a year old and solid 80 lbs. He is a little stubborn sometimes and just pushes the limits to see how far he can go.Like I said I don’t ever have to turn it up more than lever 3 for the shock. Honestly I think it scares him more than anything. Sometimes he yelps but not always. He shakes it off every time yelp or not.Haven’t had issues with this product at all. Very effective. Battery lasts over a week for us. We only put the collar on him when we go outside or if he leaves the house with us. Other than that it gets taken off and turned off when he comes inside.I’m not sure how long it takes to get a full charge but like I said it lasts over a week even two honestly once it is full charged.I have not ever had it run dead either.When I do plug it in I plug the remote and collar at the same time and by the time I need it again it’s fully charged and good to go.His neck is a good 20in around so our last shock collar wasn’t long enough and I had to get something else that worked with that shock collar.There is plenty of room if needed to be larger and it would also adjust to smaller if necessary.No issues so far with water.The only thing I can say that I wish this collar had that it does not is a ring/loop/eye-lit for a leash or in my case a seatbelt.I fully recommend 10/10.

We purchased this collar for our new Sheltie puppy a couple of months ago, and we couldn’t be more pleased with its performance.When our puppy first came home, he was very rambunctious — and somehow managed to wriggle out of his harness during a walk at about 9:00pm (in the dark). We ended up chasing him for nearly a mile until he got distracted and started playing with a neighbor’s dog. After that scare, we knew we needed something to encourage him to respond to commands more reliably.Since that day, we’ve used this collar faithfully, and his behavior has improved dramatically. I’m happy to say we haven’t had to use the shock function at all. Typically, the audible beep is enough to get his attention. In rare cases when he gets a little too excited, the “massage” function works immediately to redirect his focus. Best of all, we find ourselves needing the collar less and less.Just yesterday, the mailman came to the house and I accidentally left the front door cracked — normally an open invitation for our pup to bolt. This time, he only went as far as the porch and stopped when we called him. That moment alone made this collar worth every penny.We also appreciate its thoughtful design. The range is excellent — we’ve tested it up to 1,000 feet with no delays. The light function is great for low-light conditions. The collar is lightweight, adjustable, and comes with customizable volume and intensity settings for both the shock and massage features. It fits our small dog comfortably without any issues.We would highly recommend this collar to anyone dealing with behavior challenges in their dog and looking for a safe, effective way to reinforce training

Pawpro cannot support Canadian puchaser’s!Horrible customer service to start with. The remote broke less than two months from purchase date. Bolo could not do anything as it was past their return policy date, so I reached out to the company. They are unable to deal with a customer located in CANADA so they’ve refused to deal with me. In fact they ghosted me. After two weeks trying to get a response all they could say was ‘sorry’ but I’m out $75 and have a useless collar.There is no phone number to call. All communication is through email. Most of the reviews are great, which lead us to purchasing this collar in the first place. However, if you encounter issues, you will be out of luck getting any support or money back.
