Super fun little kit! I bought 3 because it was the perfect birthday presents for some kindergarten birthday parties! Seeds haven't sprouted just yet but the solid was the perfect amount and it was really fun to measure out the water and rehydrate the soil block. Great little science project. My little loved the stickers and decorating the box. Even if you want to use different seeds (coriander and onions are what's in the kit) they kit is worthwhile. Might try a few small radishes too

I am an avid gardener and my parents were gardeners as well. My grandson loves working in the garden and having his own little space. Having the root viewer makes gardening even more special and I believe it will help to instill in him, how fun and rewarding growing your own food can be. One side of the root viewer has pictures on it and the other side is clear. In order to see the roots growing you have to plant the seeds on the clear side of the grow kit. Not an issue but it would be nicer if it was clear viewing on all sides.

Basic toy that leads to hours of play. My son is 9 and was able to do almost the entire kit on his own. Everything works just as it's supposed to; easy to use; and looks very nice on his shelf. We could see germination within a couple weeks. I think the price point is great for future birthday party gifts for his friends. He liked this so much he chose it over screen time.

I bought this knowing the likelihood the seeds would not germinate based on other reviews.We planted 20 seeds after following all directions including the seed soaking directions. Only 1 seed germinated.There were tiny spots of mold but it was not too concerning.We still feel like it was worth the money for the container, we will just try other seeds.

Never worked. This was the enrichment piece to a study unit for my 5th grader and it would never take. Replanted 3 times and nothing. Finally used own seeds and we are seeing something but that makes the idea of this all-in-one kit pretty useless. Would not purchase again.

Okay, so I definitely ordered this to do with my 4 year old, though it quickly became evident it was just as much for me as it was for him. I am pretty sure I like it more than my son does HAHA. But the product came packaged well, it was easy and fun to set up. My son loved all the stickers that came with it and had a blast decorating the container. My advice would be to let your little decorate the container before you put the stuff in it despite the instructions saying to do so after. But we followed the instructions, I placed the container up on my kitchen window ledge and within about 3 days we saw sprouts! The seeds grew very quickly and it was so cool to see the roots through the container and how they wrap around the bottom. It is easy to keep up on as it just needs a few squirts of water at a time. A second benefit of this project is that my son under supervision gets to practice using his scissors and "mowing" the grass, which he sure thinks is pretty cool

I bought this for my daughter.. She enjoyed planting the seeds that came with it but there was no growth from them. We then tried our own seed and there was growth, we now have a little seedling!!It was very clear easy instructions, price for the product was great! Fun activity for kids, perfect size to be handled by little hands.!

Nothing happened, was a fun thing to do with the kids and talk about. Unfortunately nothing grew.
Worked okay but you could DIY this easily.
It worked and the things are growing. But it does not have carrots, just cilantro and green onions and it’s quite small. It would be just as well to get your own seeds and soil and plant this in an old soda bottle.
Fun but not worth it in the end!
Was fun to pot it with my little but they didn’t grow past an inch once they sprouted and can’t really see the roots through the dirt.
Fun and educational
This item looks great! I’m excited to give this to my 5year old who loves gardening. Fun and educational is always a win.
