This was flimsier than expected, though i supposed you get what you pay for. Fortunately, I didn't get this for my fireplace, because it does not seem like it would hold up well for that kind of use. Putting it together is simple enough, but you have to insert the top part into the bottom part, and at one of the connection points the holes didn't quite match up and the screw wouldn't go in. It didn't really need it since it was quite snug. But if I had cared about it looking nice, I would be irked by the empty hole. Fortunately, I got it simply to keep my book-loving dog away from the books on the lower shelves of a bookcase, and it works well for that. It's a better height and shape, and is less expensive than any of the dog gates I found. These are cookbooks that I use often, so flimsiness works in its favor since it is easy to move away with one hand while I grab a book with the other. However, I would not for a second consider it a safe screen for a fireplace in a household with pets and/or small children.

TERRIBLE design. CHEAP & factory flawed for screws to not thread properly connecting panels together. Arrived in 8 pieces with insufficient assembly directions. Much smaller than anticipated. Definitely NOT worth the money I paid. It’s an absolutely terrible screen.

Exactly what I wanted
It's a little light, but I just wanted it for decor in front of a fire place that's been converted to electric. With the screen in front, it looks more like a real fire. Easy to put together and stays standing without issue.
Good Screens But A Little Flimsy
I needed fireplace screens to surround my wood stove to keep the puppies from getting behind it during their playtime and these were just what I wanted and could afford, since I had to buy 3 of them. You get what you pay for, as they are a little flimsy and the dogs can definitely bowl through them. I did some DIY and secured them to the floor and walls; and to each other, so no issues anymore.As for the instructions and assembly: the instructions are well done. Easy to follow. Do yourself a favor and have a rubber hammer handy to get those pieces together. I wouldn't use a regular hammer, as it could damage the screens. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.
