I also currently have XL nails and have never installed a light fixture alone. The light was installed in about a 14’x12’ (master) room, but that’s just my guess on the room size.With all that said, this was probably the easiest installation I could’ve ever hoped for from buying this on a whim. I’ve never been high enough in my house to remove the plate that covered the wires on my ceiling fixture, so I had no idea what to expect other than that I’d be connecting a few wires eventually. I’ve replaced outlets in the past in my parents house and assisted in replacing a light fixture similar to this one, but this was extremely simple compared to what I was expecting. Aside from realizing I have a fear of heights once fully atop the ladder & touching the ceiling, this was very easy and literally could be done by anyone with two hands.My ceiling fixture had 4 wires.Red- Connects to the switch on the wallBlack - Typically connected to any light fixtureWhite - Typically connected to any light fixtureBare/Copper- Live wireNow those are very basic explanations of the wires for simplicity, in case anyone else has a matching or similar set up. This light figure does *NOT* need the live wire, or the copper/bare wire. All that’s attached to the Govee light fixture is a black and white wire, so from my understanding you can either go with just connecting those two to their corresponding wires in the ceiling, or you can connect them the way I did belowGovee Light > Black wire - Red wire > Ceiling fixtureGovee Light > White wire - White wire > Ceiling fixtureThe way I’ve explained is for anyone with a light switch connected to the ceiling fixture, hoping to also have that functionality along side the smart features. They have very easy connectors included, so all you need to do is slip the wire into place in the connector and fully snap the little lever down. Give the connector a gentle tug to ensure it’s closed and secure.If I can think of any more tips to provide I’ll update my review, but this light was overall very self explanatory and very simple to set up. It fully illuminates my room and works perfectly with my Gcync bulbs in coordination with all my Alexa devices. It looks small, but it’s very powerful and bright for this space size. I’m actually considering purchasing more for my other bedrooms in this house, it was *that* simple.I got mine with a $20 off coupon, so around $50, and it’s definitely worth the price!! It’s controlled by the Govee app and it works very nicely.Hope this helps!!Update: I installed a second one of these in my living room, but this time I installed the light with the colors of the wires matching. It still works with the switch! It also fully illuminates the (est.) 24x14x9 space, so this is a very powerful little light!

I’m absolutely loving the Govee Smart Ceiling Light! It has completely changed the vibe in my living room and bedroom, and I’m having so much fun with all the features.Brightness & Colors:This thing is seriously bright—like, it easily lights up the whole room without being harsh. I really appreciate the range of color temperatures; I can go from a soft, warm light when I’m winding down in the evening to a crisp, bright white when I need to focus during the day. Whether I’m in the mood for a calm blue or a party-ready rainbow effect, it delivers.Smart Features:Setting it up with Alexa was a breeze, and now I can just tell Alexa to change the lights or turn them off without even lifting a finger. This ceiling light is awesome. The one thing in my room that I needed to change in modernize was my light fixture and this one brought a modern look the functionality on it is great! The value for money is fantastic honestly! The brightness on this thing is crazy. One thing is I have a kind of low ceiling so it’s extremely extremely bright and hard to look at, but I won’t have a problem finding anything I lose in my room now. Lol and with all the cool features that you have with it being able to connect it to their app I also have other products from them like their T2 TV back lights so I can sync it to those and they can all display the same color. Very happy and satisfied with these lights.

Extremely happy with the brightness and quality and installation was simple (5mins). Took a while for me to get used to the Govee app which is a lot more “bloaty” than most (tuya /globe/ Kasa etc) that took another 10 mins to set up and link with Google Home… overall experience is great and I would recommend to anyone.

Más del 30% de las veces no lo hace y te ignora.No hay closed loop: Alexa dice “ya la apagué”... no se apaga.Su 1% de brillo es más brillante que varios focos al 100%.Es un tema de conversación, no una pieza funcional en tu habitación.Está hecha para usarse con la app y jugar con efectos.Perfecta si vives solo con gatos y te entretienes jugando, hablando y pensando en el foco.No así si esperas que el foco sea… pues, un foco.Cero UX: la app te lanza engagement y marketing cuando solo quieres prender la luz.Cuando se va la luz y regresa, se prende al 100%. The media could not be loaded. Impressed with the lighting, output is bright, easy to install. The demo video they had made it look harder to install. It fit in with the existing ceiling fixtures mounting system that was already in place. I have now order 2 more of these lights. It works well blending it into Google Home. Can be a bit confusing if this is your first Govee product, but once you switch/start it is easy to get sucked into the Govee eco-system.It offers varied options of lighting style and comfort that you just cant get with traditional lights. (Plus a party mode) I prefer 5-6K lightning and the others in the house like "warm" or the yellow'ish. The best part is we can all have our preference and the light will accommodate. It has the same pit-falls as any LED light that is bright. You get deeper darker shadows, etc.I will likely replace a number of my light fixtures with this light! Buying it when it is on sale or a coupon is available.
