My main switch didn't quite produce enough so I had to use a separate POE injector.Outside of that, it works fantastic. Any issues I might have would be my own dumb fault versus the product's.Like all Unifi products, as soon as you plug it into your network, the controller will see it and present it for adoption. Adopt it and push any VLAN changes you may need. Mine is splt between cameras and additional accesspoints.

No power supply. It is understandable that some customers may not use it because they use PoE. However, the description needs to say it does not include the DC power supply. I would have spent a few dollars more to buy one, but there was no way of knowing without reading other reviews.The images show where it's plugged, and the description of what's contained in the box is "hardware kit." It's insufficient information. Now my install is delayed another day.

Works great, this switch doesn’t come with a power cord (and you can’t buy a power cord after from them separately) so if you need P.O.E 60 watts you need to buy the other switch ( ubiquiti usw ultra 60w) or use an injector to make it work. I hope this helps you

There are a LOT of reviews digging this product because it has no power cable. This is an 8 port POE+ distribution switch designed to receive POE++. Ubiquiti makes a similar product that will plug into a power source. Read the details and plan your network properly.

One of my greatest mistakes was getting into ubiquity. Way over priced and under featured, but here I am again buying more ubiquity gear just show it shows up on dashboard I'm only sometimes allowed to access. This newest gem apparently doesn't need electricity or at least it doesn't ship with anything to plug it in. It doesn't seem todo much but I guess it looks pretty

As with all Unifi hardware, it just works!
I needed a PoE passthrough capable switch, and Unifi never disappoints. It's a little larger than anticipated, likely for better heat dissipation, but not a problem given it comes with a wall mount. I plugged it into my Unifi PoE switch and it immediately sprung to life. The other devices then spring into action, and I got a notification on my phone saying there was a new device waiting for adoption. One click and a few seconds later and it was done! Painless, as always.

Ubiquiti HW ist Top, jedoch habe ich diesen Switch wieder zurück geschickt da dieser nur über PoE Spannung bekommt und ein PoE Switch nicht geplant war. Habe die Lite Version mit Steckernetzteil gekauft und diese funktionieren einwandfrei. Was das gute bei Ubiquiti ist, ist die gute Controller Software wo man sein Netzwerk sauber einrichten kann. Kannte bisher den Hersteller nicht und habe diese bei einem Freund gesehen und mich dazu entschlossen mein Heimnetzwerk mit sehr vielen Clients umzustellen, auch wenn es teurer war. War etwas Arbeit aber es funktioniert tadellos ohne Netzwerkschleifen oder mehrfach Belegung der AP‘s durch die WLAN Clients.Meine Ubiquiti HW besteht aus 1 Gateway Ultra, 1 24 Port Switch USW, 3 8 Port Switch Lite USW und einen 5 Port Switch USW. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
Can power this with compatible third party power supply - Swiss army knife of a switch
This is a Swiss army knife of a switch - this package comes without a power supply. You don't need one if you are powering this with an existing upstream PoE+ or PoE++ switch also pass through PoE power to the attached devices in any of the 1-7 ports up to 16W in case PoE+ powered and up to 42W in case your upstream switch being PoE++ capable.Should you need more power requirement can opt for external power supply.I had a spare very old TP-Link 5 port dumb PoE switch, used the power brick to power this switch, since it has the same barrel power jack and same output voltage range it worked, Voila! Now I have 60W capacity.
Works well with an aftermarket power supply.
I bought this and a 54.6V 4A power supply. Once you tell the switch it has a beefier power supply, it's able to power all my PoE devices. Would recommend.
