I already have a Dolphin robot cleaner for cleaning the bottom of my pool, which I've been very pleased with for last few years, and is made by same company. I took the skimmi out of the box and just had to download app on my phone and register it for warranty purposes and then it was ready to go into pool after pairing it with the bluetooth on my phone. Packaging clips just had to be removed from the basket on skimmi and then secure basket in place and it's ready to go. I was pleased to see it already had a 100% charge and was ready to get to work in the water. 24 hours later and my pool surface has never looked so good. I have a large inground pool that was constructed in the late 70's. It's about 50' x 20' rectangular shape. Unfortunately, the skimmers in my pool no longer are operable so until now, all skimming has been done by hand manually. My pool is surrounded by mature trees too, and lots of debris falls in. Anyway, I'm so impressed already on everything skimmi picks up. I've emptied the basket once so far and left it on its own. Not sure how many hours it's been running, as I haven't been around pool much while it's running, but I have no concern on the solar power so far. I should have bought this thing years ago!

Very satisfied with this product. We have large trees over our pool, and while the attached photo shows an extreme case (collected after a severe storm), it also shows how effective this skimmer is. Normally, I would’ve spent at least 30 minutes cleaning that by hand. Now, I only need to skim occasionally. It runs 24/7, helps prevent back strain, and pairs well with our pool cleaner from the same brand. Not perfect, but it has drastically reduced my effort. Worth every penny.

I tried to save a few bucks by buying a cheaper auto skimmer. It was a true “you get what you pay for” experience and was quickly returned. The Skimmi is far superior in every way. It does a great job and keeps the pool clean. The wall cleaner feature is also a great function. The app is easy to use and comes in very handy. I can say that this item is well worth the price.

Update 4/2/25: after 3 weeks it quit charging. I left it in the sun for the last two days but it remains “dark”. Since it is still within the 30 day return window, I’m returning it. Changed it from 5-star to 1-star. So disappointed. I might purchase another one and purchase the extended warranty. So expensive but I really liked it when it was running.Original review:The Dolphin Skimmi has exceeded my expectations, but it’s not perfect.Could be improved :* Bluetooth - it connects via Bluetooth but unfortunately, it does not connect quickly or smoothly. It even has a standard pop-up message that tells you that it can take up to 40 seconds to connect even if it is a foot away from you. Some times it takes multiple attempts. Other bluetooth devices (speakers, ear buds, thermostats, etc) connect immediately. Not sure how a big company like Dolphin got this wrong.* I live in Florida and have a screened in pool. During a rainy or cloudy day, it will not charge as much. Unfortunately you cannot plug it in to charge it. You’ll just have to wait until the next sunny day comes around to recharge it. After a few months of using it, this appears to be a minor issue. I don’t think I would pull it out of the pool and charge it anyways.What it does well:* It is very lightweight. I also have a Dolphin M400 pool cleaner that is awesome but it’s like lifting a 45 pound weight out of the pool. Dolphin got the Skimmi right by making it ultra lightweight and yet feels very well-made and durable.* I love the dual paddle wheels that can do a 180° turn while in place.* Dog hair. Our lab likes to go in the pool and he leaves a lot of dog hair behind. The Skimmi does a great job picking up dog hair as well as leaves and bugs.* It has a feature where it washes/splashes the tile at the water edge to keep it clean. It seems to work well. Not 100% coverage but a nice feature.* Remote control. Once it does connect via bluetooth, the remote control works very well. I find myself moving it around the pool picking up any of the big items first since it’s just fun to do.* The basket is very easy to remove and clean.* It has blue LED lights on the bottom that is very cool looking as it works its way around the pool at night.Conclusion:I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this to friends and family. It’s fun to watch and looks very modern. Setting it up was easy. I just wish they could improve the bluetooth connection.

Recently purchased this solar pool skimmer and it has done an amazing job in a short amount of time. It was easy to set up and get to working in our pool. Took just a matter of minutes. It went right to work and has cleaned the surface very well. It's been rather windy lately so leaves have been a problem. Not for this skimmer. So far I will say this thing will make keeping the pool clean much easier and is a time saver as well. Money well spent in my opinion.

First unit arrived with the box undamaged , but something was loose inside the unit - it sat at a funny angle in the water and just ran around backwards or spun in circles. Exchanging for a new one was easier than expected. The new unit arrived and performed as advertised - for about a week, just long enough to get hooked on it. Tried to return this one for an exchange and no dice. Would only refund and I just wanted one that worked. Lucky for me, Maytronics is stepping up and fixing the problem. The Skimmi is extremely good at what it does. It actually surprised me as to how well thought out this unit is and how well it performs in the pool. Although well built for it's natural operating environment, it's only downfall may be that it's not sturdy enough to be thrown around warehouses and in delivery trucks. I do fault Maytronics for not providing enough padding in the carton to protect the components from that kind of abuse. Perhaps for online sales, packaging the orighina carton would help. Still stand by Maytronics as a company that gets it right on pool products that work.

Versuch mit einem Solar - Skinner. Leider hat das erste Modell einer anderen Firma dem Rand des unregelmäßig geformten Pools nicht sicher erkennen können und hat sich oft festgefahren. Skimmi schafft das gut. Er kommt auch mit wenig Sonnenlicht aus und schippert Tag und Nacht, mit Ausnahme an ganz wolkigen Tagen, über den Teich . In der Blütenstaubreichen Zeit schafft Skimmi nicht, alles von der Oberfläche zu holen. Vielleicht sind die Partikel auch zu klein. In Zusammenarbeit mit einem sationaeren Skimmer halten beide Geräte die Oberfläche derzeit einigermaßen sauber. Zum "normalen" Betrieb in meinem Naturteich(!!!), wenn nur ein paar Tierchen oder Blättchen an der Oberfläche schwimmen, kann ich noch nichts sagen. Ich bin da aber zuversichtlich.Die Reinigung des Filters geht recht einfach und schnell. Die App ist auch schnell installiert und einfach zu bedienen .Witzig ist, wenn Skimmi sich die Sonnenplätze selbst sucht

En general, producto interesante y útil. El inconveniente es que si la temperatura exterior es muy alta, el mismo aparato te pide dejar de funcionar. Al vivir en Cádiz, las temperaturas mas altas coinciden con viento de levante y mayor suciedad en la piscina que es cuando el skimmer sería mas útil. Por lo demás, bien. Se deja funcionando toda la noche y por la mañana la superficie del agua suele estar mas limpia que antes.
