Description:
The crumbling country pile of Button House is home to numerous restless spirits who have died there over the centuries – each ghost very much a product of their time, resigned to squabbling with each other for eternity over the most inane of daily gripes. But their lives – or, rather, afterlives – are thrown into turmoil when a young couple – Alison and Mike – surprisingly inherit the peaceful derelict house and make plans to turn it into a bustling family hotel. As the ghosts attempt to oust the newcomers from their home, and Mike and Alison discover the true scale of the project they’ve taken on, fate conspires to trap both sides in an impossible house share, where every day is, literally, a matter of life and death.

Wonderful series. Can see why ending has mixed reviews. Kept thinking the main couple would change their minds only because with a baby on the way they would have to be practical but they weren't. Was hoping to see another season but no such luck. So terribly sorry to see it end nonetheless. So funny, unique and enjoyable.

I love this complete set of BBC Ghosts....it has all the episodes, some of which I didn't get to see until purchasing the collection of all 5 seasons. Brilliant show, great writing, actors bring the characters to life (in a manner of speaking) in such a believable way that I find myself feeling I am right there in the room with them. Delicious comedic antics. If you love the show, you really should buy this!!

The quality of the show, and the product itself, are great! I love the BBC version and it is SOOOO much better than the American show! The characters are endearing and there's no propaganda or anything creepy like the U.S. version. The comedic talent of the cast is wonderful. If you want a good laugh and a show that pulls at the heart strings, this is it!

Starts off a bit slow but stick with it. At first I was sad that I bought it but by season 2, I was invested. I can't say I enjoyed the final season (and especially the finale) as much, but still worth the watch. One of the characters was too over-the-top for me (Thomas) but the variety of personalities was enjoyable. Some characters completely won me over by the end (Lady Button, the Captain). I do enjoy British humor though Mike's character wasn't really my cup of tea (pun intended). He was handsome enough but his voice and his way of speaking was not enjoyable to me and his character was too much of a child.

Have really enjoyed this series. The premise is an interesting one - and they come up with surprising situations for the ghosts. Wish it had more seasons. I have not watched the American version, but I do like the characters in the BBC version.

This is a region one set that plays perfectly in USA. For the past several years I've had a hard time watching this series due to BBC not releasing it in the USA market. Once this appeared on Bolo I bought it immediately and am so happy to have the complete set, although I am sad it didn't run for several more seasons. The DVD's also have bonus, blooper scenes that make this set even better. The USA series isn't as good as the UK version was but it is nice that the USA version is going to have more seasons. Heard they are making a version for Australia and maybe Europe. Anyway, this original UK version will always be the best!

I LOVE this series
I bought this set for my mum as I loved the Ghosts series when I watched it. It is funny and I highly recommend seeing this series.
Great show
Couldn't find the UK version available to stream anywhere. I wanted to watch it as I loved Horrible Histories and it's the same people, so purchased the DVD. Can now confirm the show is a lot of fun and I'd recommend to all.
