The highest point in the room was over an inch higher than the lowest point! I removed an enormous amount of concrete with this. I did fill in some of the lowest areas with Levelquik, but if I had used only Levelquick, it would have taken hundreds of dollars worth of bags and the doors wouldn’t be able to open because the floor would be too high. This tool took the abuse and is ready for more! I even used it to grind some uneven concrete walls, but I don’t recommend doing that because it’s pretty heavy. Its weight actually helps when grinding subfloors though. I love carrying bag that comes with it, the dust shroud did a great job, and the grinding wheel that came with it turned out to be incredibly durable.I’m glad I bought this and finished flattening my subfloor! I hope I never have to do it again but at least I have a tool that’s up for the job!
4.0 out of 5 stars Grinds well
Directions need to be better but I figured it out on putting it together properly. The adapter for the shroud doesn’t work well for the seat collection. Keeps popping out. All in all, the grinder itself does the trick
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool that met every expectation!
The tool worked great. It was powerful and felt like quality. I used it for hours with the included diamond wheel as well as another wheel meant just for mastic removal. I bought this instead of renting a 9" machine for $300 per day with both sets of heads. Now I own this for close to the same cost and I didn't have to rush to get it all done is one day which would't have happened. A minor annoyance as mentioned in another review. The L shaped handle came loose a couple times and I had to tighten it each time and put the handle back on. No biggie. The second is the dust shroud. While it works well, it makes taking the wheel off difficult since the flats for a wrench are hidden in the shroud. I had to stick one jaw of a pair of pliers into a hole and hit it with a hammer while someone else held the lock button. It the instructions a small wrench was pictured that fit the handle and dust shroud but it was not included.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to grind away sidewalk / driveway high spot trip hazards - vs replacing concrete.
it did what it was meant to do, grind down uneven concrete. I'd say 4.5 stars - because it is near impossible to take off grinding wheel once used (still have not removed it!) But it is a work horse - and happy with the actual performance.
3.0 out of 5 stars try other cups
grinding cup wheel might cause grinder to shake , cups threading is poor
5.0 out of 5 stars Truly the best angle grinder
This thing absolutely rips! Put the right disk type for the job and know how to do it, and you're set. This motor is extremely powerful and will hold up much better than any wheel you can put on it. I sometimes run it for an hour straight or longer chopping crap up and grinding, it's choking on concrete powder for 3 hours straight and my mask has an inch of dust on it, meanwhile this thing is still chugging along just like it did out of the box. Just blow it out with air when the job is done and it's good to go. It'll pop the circuit breaker in most circuits I plug it into, and an inverter with enough power for it to run costs more than a new phone, but if you can feed the thing enough power it'll run real well. Better use two hands when you first get it going too because especially if you use a heavy disk, this thing jerks itself like a fish on the chopping block the second you press the trigger. It'll fly off the table if you're not careful.Im always cutting metal so i might add something: for the best attachment you can get to cut 99 percent of materials, look for solid steel wheels with the diamond cutting edge. Ones for metal will have different edge patterns and roughness of the diamond material. The smooth, sometimes continuous edge ones are for masonry uses. It's a little expensive to buy the ones with a larger diameter but just do it and you'll thank me later. It lasts way longer than those fiberglass ones, and best of all, they don't try to maim you. The first time you use a fiberglass wheel and it explodes is quite frightening, but still safer than a metal wheel biting because you gave it a weird angle and having the whole grinder break apart or be ripped out of your grip. It definitely takes practice and focus to use an angle grinder, sure anyone can do it, however it's not such a safe tool and having one this powerful should be taken seriously.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for small projects
Pretty good for the money. The shield came off while we were working and it was a little less horse power than I needed. It was easy to assemble and caused a LOT of dust. But I underestimated what it could do.
5.0 out of 5 stars For What it is
It's fine for what it is. I've tried a couple of the cheaper grinders and I've found this one to be the best so far. It's powerful and comes with everything you need to get grinding right away. I use it professionally to grind down humps in concrete subfloors. The dust collector works great in conjunction with a shop vac fitted with a dust bag. I did need adapter parts to connect it to my full size Ridgid vac. I bought those parts at Home Depot. My only complaint is with the handle. It doesn't like to stay tight and I may end up using some Teflon or thread locker to help it out.Overall great buy.
