My son (who has special needs) is new to high school and struggling greatly with opening his locker. I specifically looked to purchase a combo lock that could be set with a personalized set of numbers so that he could practice his same combination at home and relieve the stress at school. This lock comes with a preset combination and CANNOT be set with your own numbers. The advertisement specifically says that it can! This may not seem like a big deal to most, but for anyone who knows the effort and time and energy that goes into figuring out ways to help their struggling kids through these kinds of day to day obstacles, you would know how maddening this is! And no, he can't just practice it anyway with the preset combo- he will then learn the wrong combination and make it worse. Why is it so hard to just tell people the truth and not waste their time and money?! Thank you for nothing!

This lock is lightweight and designed for securing items at a gym or school lockers, not valuable possessions.The combination mechanism functioned well and was easy to use. I couldn't open it simply by pulling on it, although it did show considerable movement. Given its price, it's understandable that it can be broken.The cost is excellent for situations where you need to deter kids or in low-crime public areas.

This lock came in it's own box. There was a sticker, not easy to remove, on the back with the combination to open the lock. The combination worked and was smooth. I was not able to open this lock just by pulling on it. However, there was a lot of movement when I tried. I think it would break if I was to use a screwdriver to force it open.I would not recommend this lock for anyone who wanted to keep their stuff safe.

The lock is just as it is described. The combination works well and operates smoothly.It is a lightweight lock meaning that it is not meant to secure valuables but instead a gym or school locker. I'm guessing that if someone were to hit it with a hammer it would only take a couple shots to break it but the benefit is that it isn't some heavy hunk of metal hanging off your gym bag. I think this is a fair tradeoff and have no worries about using this at the gym.
