5.0 out of 5 stars Great FFB wheel for the price/some caveats

    S.8. · January 9, 2025

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } So, I was upgrading from a 2006 Logitech Momo FFB wheel and in comparison, this is miles better for less than $100 more than a used Momo. The FFB is responsive and reacts well to changes in ffb settings. The wheel itself has a nice feel to it. The finish is grippy (I wear gloves, so it adds to the grip) and for the insane person in me that needs a centering stripe, it has one so you know when the wheel is borked at center. (It has a strong warehouse smell to it) The wheel diameter is OK, but is quite large for games like F1. There really isn't a comfortable steering angle lock for games with short wheel/short angle steering. Turns that would be 90 degrees in a direct drive simulation are full arm crossing turns of the wheel, even at 300 degree lock. Plenty of buttons. Perhaps too many buttons for most games. Double paddle shifters on the back and the top ones have a nice tactile click to them.Being able to disconnect the wheel from the unit gives it a direct drive look that I like but the steering unit itself get's pretty warm after about 2 hours or so of play (this was doing 30 laps in F1 so that might factor in significantly). The base is also adjustable for a better steering angle.I strongly suggest investing in a steering wheel stand. The two brackets the wheel comes with to secure it to your desk are terrible. There is only one securing point at the front of the brackets and they are tightened by an allen key. The back of the brackets are only secured by pure friction and with the base being metal, the brackets slip and turn often. Honestly, the last thing I want to do after gripping a steering wheel shaking for it's life is fiddle around with a little allen key.The pedals are pretty sturdy and heavy feeling. Again, they also took a decently long F1 beating and show no wear. I reiterate my statement about a stand as the pedal base has little to no resistance to movement, especially on a hardwood floor like myself. They are adjustable, which is nice, but again, they require the same allen key as the brackets, which is not nice. The shifter is probably the worst part of the bundle, but in it's defense, the logitech shifter does not fare much better and is a separate accessory for around $50. This shifter is very light feeling. Sure, it's gated, but the gates are exceptionally short and the shifter's resistance spring is far too strong for the short gates but at the same time the shifter's spring is extremely sensitive. In summary, it's very easy to miss a shift. There are parking brake and Hi/Low buttons on it, but they're at the top, rather than the bottom, so you have to reach over or around the shifter to access them and reach further from your sitting position as well. There is an app that you can try out if you want. I've had it connect to my wheel maybe half the time. All it does is change FFB settings and the like (dampening, centering spring, ect) but i've found that in-game calibrators/adjusters work just fine. Some games detect it as a V99, some games detect it as a legacy wheel and requires significant remapping and some games don't detect it, but any game that hasn't still recognizes it as a controller of some sort and remaps fine. You can put it into xinput mode and map the whole set up to emulators even. Works great with Gran Turismo 5.Overall, this is honestly a good deal. Poking around the internet seems to indicate PXN are making some sort of F1 wheel attachment for it, which would be really nice. If you can overlook things like the mounting brackets, the build quality of the shifter and invest in a decent stand (which you probably should for any $150-$300 wheel) you will find this set up more than serviceable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great worth it

Definitely worth the buy, the feedback given when playing games like Asetto Corsa is top tier, makes me feel like I'm driving to a more realistic degree than a normal steering wheel.Shifter is definitely a great use, as well as no issues with the pedals.Only gripe I have is the shifter is a 6 gear shifter with no reverse, and the game I play has up to 7 gears and reverse it is what it is.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's great when it works

    G.R. · February 15, 2025

After playing with the connections for an hour I got it to work on my PS4. Sadly it was short lived after 3 to 5 min of playing its like it disconnected/freezes whatever you were doing accelerateing turning ect it just keeps doing that and nothing works not the wheel pedals or the ps4 remote. You have to turn it off and restart everything recalibrate and it will work again for 3 to 5 minutes then do the same thing again. Hopefully it's a bad cable or a setting I don't understand (I'm not very computer savvy) it's sad because when it works it works very well clutch brakes accelerator steering shifter all feel good and make for a great driving experience. Also hopefully they will get back to me as I submitted a tech help email to the company. I'm just praying their customer service is good and they can help me sort it out. If not I guess ill send it back and just buy some another better made sim setup because now that I've used it I can't go back to the PS4 controller 🤣 will update when/if they reach out to help with support

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for a first set up.

Good set up, feels great with force feedback. The plastic foot pedals are cheap feeling, and disconnect from the wheel too easy. They could be spread a little further apart as well. Overall it's great for a first set up and can get good gameplay out of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed!

    R.b. · June 7, 2025

For my first wheel and pedal/shifter simulator, it did not disappoint. I'm very satisfied with the V99. I'd highly recommend for someone looking to purchase their first simulator. The only downside is the pedals moving a lot and lifting off the ground. Grant I have it on carpet other from that. I'm happy with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great design. Feels solid. Has some issues.

    S.S. · February 8, 2025

After using this for a solid week now, I can say that the V99 is definitely good quality for the price. I like the shifter a lot more then Logitech's G29 shifter. You definitely know what gear you are in. The size of the steering wheel and the feel of it is amazing. It has a really solid design, and its detachable. The force feedback and strength of the motors are nothing short of impressive. However, I've ran into a couple of consistent issues. I have 2 different gaming PC's, so I've been able to verify that the issues are with the wheel and not a PC issue. First issue, the wheel is not centered. When you plug it in, it auto calibrates from lock to lock and when it stops, its about 15 degrees off to the left. I used the USB Game Controller Calibration tool in windows to calibrate it to center, but it doesn't retain it after you restart windows. You have to recalibrate it each time. Another issue I'm having is the Pedals just randomly stop working after a period of time. There is no consistency to it. Sometimes its 20 minutes, sometimes its 2 hours, and sometimes it works for an entire session. I've found this to be consistent on 2 different 12th Gen intel windows 11 PC's, one with 16gb RAM and a RTX 3060, the other with 64gb RAM and a RTX 3060 Ti Elite, playing Forza 5, Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa EVO. Then there is the PXN Wheel App. It doesn't work right, and you don't need it. The wheel works just fine with or without it. I thought maybe it was the app that was causing the issues, so I removed it and found that the wheel works the same for all games with or without it. You just need to manually map the controls, which I would recommend doing in any case. For the issues, I have to drop a couple stars.

    Gran tamaño, buena respuesta.

    Muy bueno y versátil

The media could not be loaded. Es una opción bastante buena si quieres un volante con force feedback multiplataforma, en lo personal si lo usas para hobby lo recomiendo 100%
