I know kwickset are supposedly garbage licks but this is great for my needs.I put this on a tiny house door so we could easily access it without a key. Installation took maybe 20 minutes and that includes rekeying it to my old key.It works great and I am thinking of getting another for my shed.The rekeying part was really cool and took a few minutes. Only because I could not believe how easy it was.

Very satisfiedI have a Kennel facility and have been using the quickset Smart code door levers and decided on one of my doors that’s a primary to install the code deadbolt version in conjunction with the code lever surprisingly both are able to be used on the door with factory spacing between the holes for the deadbolt and holes for the door knob highly recommend Will definitely do this on more doorsInstallation was very easy set up was very easy and it is very well-made. I do not use the autolock feature on the deadbolt, but I do on my lever, but when I use the quickset button to lock the door on the outside, it bolts flawlessly. Works great weight is standard but well built.

The Kwikset Powerbolt 250 looks sleek in matte black and comes with some solid features like customizable user codes, auto-lock, and keyless entry. I appreciated the added security options and the build quality felt dependable.However, I did not find the keypad sleek. Even though this lock offers more features overall, I ended up sticking with my Bolo Basics electronic lock, mainly because the hidden digital keypad.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Bought this model because my current locks are all Kwikset, making rekeying easy. Also I now have a no-key-needed vehicle (card in my wallet). Now, I don't have to carry a house key either. I like the look of the touch pad models, but I use one frequently and find that it's harder to operate in the dark. It's especially hard to find the first number, because the lock is dark until you press on the pad - "oops, wrong number again!" This lock is between my garage and utility room. Don't care whether it matches the rest of my door hardware exactly. Easy to install, even easier to program and it has many features I don't need (like automatic locking and 25 user codes), but you may find them useful. One note on rekeying the lock. Kwikset's instructions are good, except I've never been able to get the rekeying tool into the rekeying slot as far as the instructions indicate. So, regardless of whether that tool is in as far as instructed, if you have the original key in the right position and, at the appropriate step in the instructions you can remove the old key, your ready to proceed with the new key. Comment on some of the negative reviews: The bolt and the striker plate on the door handle have to position this electronic deadbolt lock and striker plate so they engage smoothly, with little to no drag. I don't think this battery-powered lock would last long term in a situation where the bolt has to fight its way into and out of the striker opening. Too high a load; something will eventually fry. In my case, I corrected just that situation before installation (found a stripped and cracked screw hole in the door frame). Fixing that takes a small amount of know-how but, if you're replacing a smooth-operating deadbolt, this is an easy task.

Easy to install with detailed directions. Quality parts that feel sturdy and reliable. Easy to program as well. I used to think Schlage was the top brand but this model was better in every way. Including price point.

Recently purchased a house with 5 entryways on the first floor and replaced all the existing deadbolts with these electronic locks. The build quality feels a step below something like schlage but are very functional. Installation, in my case through replacing old preexisting hardware, is quick and easy. Pin set up is also very quick and painless. One thing I don't like is that auto lock is not preset and must be setup by you.A couple of gripes or observations about these...no batteries are included and each unit requires 4 AA so be prepared. The bolt has a very low bind tolerance and will throw a errors if your catch isn't exactly lined up. Unfortunately for a few of our doors we had to leave the plates off to shave some area before reinstalling.

My friend has this exact lock. I instantly fell in love with it when I was visiting her. I don't have to worry about my key. I do keep it on me but it's nice to be able to walk out the door and know it's going to automatically lock seconds after. It's nice and convenient especially because my kid doesn't always latch the door or friends come in and don't lock it and it can pop open. So when people come in it locks and the pets can't get out. Gives me peace of mind when my hubby is away or when I'm home on my day off sleeping. I'll never go back to a regular lock system.
