A cordless drill is required to assemble securely. For additional storage needs, you can add a shelf to the workbench with the 2X4ADDSHLF-GRY Single Shelf Kit. Requires only 90-degree straight cuts with no angles for ease of assembly. Plans supplied detail how to construct the most popular size of workbenches. You can also build to whatever specification you prefer, just supply the lumber and you'll be up and running quickly. Kit does not include any lumber, wood, or particle board.

I was dubious when I opened the box but with careful lumber selection I produced a very acceptable workbench. Take your time, make sure everything is well seated. I had no issues with cracking mentioned by others, but again, I was very careful with the quality of the 2x4s used.

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. Do not waste your time buying these. The plastic easily broke while inserting the 2x4’s. The plastic also broke when driving the screws into the factory mounting holes. I had to add my own extra bracing because these plastic brackets don’t hold anything square. Don’t waste your time. Spend the money on the steel brackets.

Update: after getting a drill bit set from HomeDepot, I used the 3/8 one to drill before deploying the screws. The whole thing is assembled now. I cracked only one bracket because I didn't notice that the piece wasn't straight. This weekend I am going to secure some boards to the structure to provide shade to my feeding station.I got my 2x4s from HomeDepot and they are not all of the same exact size. Only one piece went into the brackets easily, every other one was a super tight squeeze. While you can force them in by oiling the ends, hammering with a mallet, or, lay everything under the sun for a few days. I couldn't finish assembling it in one day and had to leave for a week. When I came back, all the pieces can slide in and out of the brackets easily. Not sure if the sun shrank the wood or relaxed the brackets. I couldn't get the screws to go into the wood, not with my budget drill. The long screws are impossible, the head gets stripped easily. I managed to get a few short screws in while stripping the head. I was desperate and started hammering nails into the wood, hoping to keep everything together while I find a better drill. I first used the mallet and was knocking the nails side ways. I then found a small hammer and started bending the nails directly.Apparently I am supposed to first get a drill bit to create a channel to allow the screws to go in smoothly. I need a new drills then, currently the bit holder is stuck in the chuck. The drill has decent reviews though, so something is wrong with me.Two stars for this idiot who doesn't have the right tools for the job. Four stars for the product because it's not idiot-friendly. 😭

Very easy to use and they worked great! Having a shelf underneath the workbench top is nice too. I built mine so the back two slots have the 2x4 going up above so I could build a back wall to the workbench to add pegboard and a "shelf" at the top to hang a shop light from.

This is labeled to be used with 2x4 lumber however 2x4 lumber does NOT fit and will break the cheap plastic parts if you try and make the 2x4s fit! I have requested a replacement so hopefully I got a one. I will update review when the replacement comes in
