Very fast (using with 4x16TB HDD + 2TB NVMe for cache). I like the fact that is has 3 NIC adapters, this is very welcome as I use 10GB card as connection to my main network and 2.5GB card as alternate connection the other network behind VPN. QTS system let's me configure the device exactly to my needs. Overall, very impressed.

It’s fast with 10Gbe network and works great with NFS for my virtual machines running in my homelab cluster.Me coming from Synology NAS, the interface is web portal is a little slow but after its setup I don’t have to use the web portal much. Also one missing feature is software the backs up Linux machines, synology has this and I miss it.

I purchased this based on a customer who bought the TS-1655 which was purchased a year ago and had a Xeon processor. They no longer put Xeon's in it. I figured it would be an improvement a little. Well this thing is simply a dog. The first 5 disks creating were not bad. I am using it with FC. The disks and performance are fast. But after creating the 5th disk it becomes a dog and gets slower and slower with every created disk for adding additional luns. I am not impressed with their support at all. It is about impossible to talk to anyone. I have about 40 hours into working with this now and it does become cumbersome. I am up to 25 runs now and it takes 10 to 15 minutes just to create a new one now. UGHHHad to update. Worst company have ever dealt with in my 30 plus years of working in the Technology. I would discourage anyone. They don't care. They lie to sell the products and drag it out till non returnable,

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent performance and specs. LOUD.

Loaded mine up with 128GB of ECC memory. Have 7 days left to open a return while I've been working with support regarding an extremely noisy Power Supply fan. Apparently this is a common theme in the past with QNAP. It's noisy and intermittent -- makes you think there's a failing hard drive or something. Can't even hear the hard drives over the noise. Only solution I've seen others suggest is replacing the PSU completely with an aftermarket. But I'm just not prepared to do that with a brand new unit.Running QuTS and it runs well, definitely slow to boot and slow to perform various operations. But it does finish. With the QuTS (ZFS) you can't really have any write cache -- only a write "log" cache. You have to run QTS to have write cache at all. Definitely better off this way for data integrity though. I had created a 6-disk array and loaded with some data, then needed to factory reset in order to move the system data over to the NVME. I just pulled all of the mechanical drives, then once I'd reloaded everything I figured I'd be able to just reinstall the drives and it would detect the RAID set. Nope. Detected as new disks. No import, no "unknown"... just "Ready to create new". That was surprising to me. It's generally kind of a good feeling that -- should the worst happen and you've only your drives left over, that you'd be able to pop them in another unit. Maybe there's a process for it that I didn't follow. But it more than willingly let me destroy the previous RAID set without any inkling that there was data present there.Still working on benchmarking on speeds, but seems very capable and acceptable speeds. Just need to have a good network setup to take advantage of it.Will revise once I decide what to do -- if I return or end up getting some resolution from Qnap Support and/or Bolo. --Josh
