Beggars Arkive will release a vinyl reissue of THE CULT’S fifth album Ceremony on August 11th. Two editions will be available. Blue/Red is exclusive to independent retail, black vinyl will be available everywhere. Originally released in 1991, The follow up to the massive Sonic Temple marked a turning point in the band’s sound and style and it was their first without longtime bassist Jamie Stewart. The album was a commercial success, reaching No. 25 on the Billboard chart and it remains a fan favorite and an important album in The Cult’s discography. The Cult continued to develop their sound on this album, and it is heavily influenced by Native American culture. Ceremony is a testament to their ability to evolve and adapt while staying true to their roots and it’s songs are about spirituality, love and rebellion. Quality re-issue. I would have preferred gatefold for a double vinyl but everything fits well. It's taken me many years to pick up this album for some reason and I have to say it's probably just as good as Sonic Temple or anything else before it. Ian's vocals are perhaps the best they ever sounded here.

I ordered 5 albums from Bolo this time, all brand new and factory sealed everything they usually list when an item is new. When they arrived I was surprised to find them shipped only in a cardboard box, no bubble wrapped or anything to protect them in any way. I was then not too surprised to find 2 of them damaged inside, cracks on the covers (front and back) and the discs loose inside with scratches too. Considering they have travelled all the way to Australia like this, I was expecting damage on all 5 cd's.Let's just say after the poor shipping and packaging they most definitely do not look "Brand New" any more. I've even left comments like this one on Bolo's new page where you can rate their packaging and have heard no reply back what-so-ever. They have definitely dropped the ball on this one.RegardsScot Shaw

this record was the follow up to sonic blah blah blah... i liked sonic and electric and even the original love that broke the band.. all have their different styles and sounds.. this one is just not as good as any before or after it. the next record the self titiled cult (black sheep) was great then the band broke up-- astbury does holy barbarians then solo record which both were brilliant then beyond good and evil and then born into then choice all excellent.. but this ceremony --while alright isnt their best... seems a lil lack luster--

Ottimo album, il terzo e ultimo della trilogia hard rock old school, dei quali a mio avviso è il migliore, con un billy duffy scatenato e un ian astbury ispirato. Scorre via che è un piacere e ti viene subito voglia di riascoltarlo: hard rock "rumoroso" stile AC/DC, rock ballade stile Led Zeppelin e Gun n' roses, il tutto con inconfondibile marchio di fabbrica "The Cult"!
