If you want an esp 1000 buy this and put actives and locking tuners on it and save your money! Great build no flaws, no issues, no high frets, no jumpy tuners, no squeely pickups, nothing to whine about and sounds great for metal and rock. Fretboard looks like ebony and neck is a d shape but not chunky, its not an ibanez wizard neck or a jackson thin neck but not a 50s basball bat either nice feel satin finished and not black its mahogany color on rear.Pickups are ceramic and kinda hot so nice crunch and it will chug well in d,c or b standard tuning. Medium jumbo frets NOT jumbo as advertised but still nice larger frets. Was setup well out the box, other than lowering the bridge some for lower action its setup very well, neck had the perfect amount of relief. Beginners buy this guitar its great for newbies for sure, better than most firefly or other sub 180.00 china brands ive felt in person. leo jaymz is the only other cheapo ive bought I would recommend to anyone beginner to experienced to buy for the money. Ive bought , modded and worked on over 200+ guitars this is a winner and a keeper! Maybe I got a winner but most reviews ive seen are all positive.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing affordable guitar
This guitar is great. I've been playing for longer than i can remember anymore. I just wanted a second electric for jamming with my buddy. To leave over his house so i don't have to lug everything every time. But this guitar is awesome. The actin is great. The pickups are good enough. The strings are garbage, change them immediately. But it's a beautiful guitar, that sounds great, plays great, honestly it sounds as good as my good guitar and it looks allot better. I got the matte black LP. Gorgeous guitar. I ended up putting emg h4's in it. Waste of money, but that's how much i like this guitar. But honestly the pickups that were in it were fine for standard or even D. But i play in drop C and the low string sounded muddy. Just the low. The higher strings sounded better than my schecter. Which made me mad that this cheapo guitar had better pickups than my stock schecter. So i bought emg's for my schecter then figured screw it and bought them for both. But it's worth the money. It's a bolt on neck so don't expect it to sound like a $1k or more guitar. But it is comparable to other $500 guitars with a bolt on neck. And infinitely better than all the guitars i had before my schecter and they were name brands. A fender, a low end Ibanez, a Washburn, BC Rich warlock i have them all away when i bought this schecter, and this guitar sounded better than my schecter on the high end. I'm impressed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Its an inexpensive guitar!! Dont nit pic it
Nice product.. frets need a little work. Intonation off on A string...but overall for the price... not bad
5.0 out of 5 stars The intonation is spot on
This is unbeatable guitar I would compare it to a 600 dollar guitar . I'M very impressed with the quality and play ability of this guitar the set up from factory was nearly flawless, the intonation was right on stays in tune adfter you break in the string i even tuned it Tuned step, and whole low played for hours in different Tuned key ,Standard, Half step -,Whole step low and stayed in tune in all .The neck strait and with D neck very comfortable playing .the mate finishes are awesome great product i woild recommend it to anyone seeking another guitar to take with them on trips to practice with can't beat it.
5.0 out of 5 stars HONEST REVIEW
Update: After having this guitar for a bit I am giving it five stars for its quality compared to price! I have a future video coming on the buzzing, how to fix it and what causes it. As well I have a review coming on the LP-900. Please look for the links for both videos in the future.PACKAGE ARRIVED A DAY LATE. MAJOR BUZZING NOISE DO TO EITHER GROUND OR DEFECTIVE PICKUPS! THIS IS A PROBLEM IN HONEST REVIEWS ON YOUTUBE AS WELL. OTHERS ARE DISHONEST, AS YOU CAN SEE THEM COVERING STRINGS WITH THEIR HANDS, SO BUZZING NOISE IS NOT NOTICEABLE! IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO WORK ON GUITARS, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GUITAR. MY NEPHEWS CAME WITH A DEFECTIVE BRIDGE AND WILL NOT INTONATE! PRODUCT ALSO HAS HOLIDAYS IN THE PAINT. Otherwise it is a sharp looking and sounding guitar. THE BUSSING WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY! I WILL BE DOING AN HONEST REVIEW AND UPGRADING THIS GUITAR. LOOK FOR IT ON YOUTUBE.THIS IS AN UPDATE!!!!! Be careful! Package may not come…. My nephew ordered his two days after me. His arrived today mine has not arrived and showing delayed shipping with. no explanation! So far not a good look. Especially as someone who is doing a YouTube review on it.
I'm more impressed than I thought I would be
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I bought this guitar because I love music in general but more specifically metal and wanted to learn an instrument. I am therefore a total newbie in the world of electric guitar playing. I was going to buy cheap in case I wouldn't keep at it. I still wanted to buy the best I could find at a decent price range. The other brands I was looking at with similar configuration were Donner and Leo Jaymz. Why did I choose this one ? Reviews. I checked as many reviews as I could from experienced guitarists and this model came on top consistently. Some reviewers mentioned the company stood behind their products and I can vouch for that as they contacted me not long after the purchase to ask me how my purchase went and how I liked the guitar. Who does that anymore ? Fesley did. What is more surprising is that they even do it for entry level guitars like this one. So how is the guitar ? To me it looks awesome. It feels good too. It was fairly easy to tune for a newbie and I think it sounds awesome in a Fender Champion II 25 amplifier. It should sound better as I learn to play of course. It comes with just about everything a newbie needs to start playing except the amplifier. It has a decent cable for hookup, a strap, 3 picks, a sanding block (not sure what it does) and a case that looks very nice with quality fabric and just enough padding to protect it when it is shipped. The guitar is relatively light and looks so much better in person than what can be seen online. If there is one thing that they could make better at this price point it's the instruction manual which is just about useless for a newbie. They talk about adjusting the truss rod and changing the strings ! No mention as to why there are 2 volume controls or what the 3 way switch does. Remember this is a guitar aimed at beginners. Give us useful information please. Sure I managed to learn a few things about this particular model online but honestly the manual is abysmal and should be promptly revised. I can't complain too much as this seems to be a trend now. The manual for my Fender amplifier is not much better. Another thing of note for some: Get a variety pack of Dunlop picks to try out while you learn. The Fesley picks provided are OK but on the very stiff side. If you've got this far, ignore my last observation about the manual and get this guitar if you are a beginner that wants to learn on something that is of very decent quality and looks absolutely stunning. I think I got a lot of bang for the buck here (it was on special at $200 CAD)
First impression...wow!
Dec 1 2024Unboxed it today and tuned it up...stock strings kaka poo poo. Changed them and much improvement.I have done nothing for set up, other than strings . I have been lusting the Esp ltd ec-1000 for years but not willing to part with the cash. So this is my alternative at $1200 less cash. Now it does not compare in quality, however, was not expecting it to. However, this guitar is way over it's bang for the buck. Neck is smooth and comfortable, tuners are ok. Flawless finish and very minimal flaws on fret board. No fret sprout, neck is straight as an arrow. IMO I found pickups a tad muddy with heavy distortion. (Not a deal breaker). It sings sweetly with the same setting lead playing.Like the Esp. it has a body contour making it very comforable...no digging into the rib cage as LP tend to do to me. Guitar looks really sweet, and headstock is cool too...classy! With a guitar in this price range, if it comes with a gig bag they are usually pretty crappy and thin. The included gig bag is actually very nice and offers some protectionUpdate a review later when I discover how it like to be playedDec 4 2024 Second Impression....WOW WOW!Let out the truss rod about a 1/4 turn and lowered the bridge about a 1/2 turn ( low E) and the action is so buttery smooth. Not fet buzz to be found...ooo I like!Fesley reached out with a customer service follow up email ( unheard of) to see how I am liking it and for suggestions. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside..LOL. Now I feel bad that I poo pooed on their strings (comment). But then most guitars over the years get new strings after purchase (personal preference)For a $205 Canadian the pickups are good -+. Are they great, in my humble opinion...nope. But hey ONLY $205. How does this thing get built for that?? Not complaining...Update...tuners are growing on me and I like them...TTYL
Highly impressed, See? Guitars don't have to be expensive to be good!
This is an amazing quality instrument for the price. The stock nut, pickups, and tuners all do the job. I'm normally an EMG guy I have EMG's in all my other guitars, these pickups sound so close to an EMG that I may just leave them in there. I'm certainly not in a huge hurry to modify it just to make it playable it's already good. Exceptional fretwork, no sharp edges or loose/high frets. I did have to adjust the truss rod the action at the bridge, and tighten down the input jack. The patch cords were slipping out and making the tone sound bad. After I did all that it plays like a dream, sounds and looks gorgeous, I'm very happy with it, Good job Fesley, thanks for a killer axe at a great price, cheers!! \m/
A nice budget Les Paul with some room for improvement
The media could not be loaded. Beginner guitars were sort of hit or miss back in the 80's and 90's, but the quality of budget guitars these days is nothing short of impressive by comparison. This Fesley Les Paul caught my eye and, since I’ve been a good boy this year, I decided to play Santa for a day and get myself one.Packaging:This guitar ships in a padded gig bag inside a standard cardboard box. The packaging is fine, but not as well done as I’ve seen with other instruments in this price range. Grade: B+Build Quality:This instrument is well-made and feels solid. The overall look reminds me more of an ESP Eclipse than a Les Paul, but I really like the modern neck and belly carves. The matte/satin finish is very nice, and the sunburst finish looks lovely. Unlike a real LP, this has a flat top instead of an arched top. That clearly saves a lot of money, which is reflected in the price. The fretwork is okay, but it’s a tad rough and not as impressive as other guitars I’ve bought in this price range. The pickups are good, but some of the electronics are a little blah. The switch and pots feel fine, but the tone control doesn’t respond well. The input jack isn’t great either, and will likely need replacing before long. Grade: BPlayability:This guitar feels solid and responsive. The open-pore neck is nicely shaped, and the satin finish feels wonderful. It’s a very comfortable instrument to play, and I really like the overall feel. I think it would be suitable for guitarists of any skill level, from beginner to advanced. Grade: ASetup:My guitar was acceptably set up out of the box, but it needed some tweaking. I think most beginners would be able to adapt to it pretty quickly, but some issues will need attention in the long term. The action was somewhat high, and I soon realized that was due to a high fret. Rather than fix it, they just raised the action to make it less noticeable. That’s forgivable, but it’s still a little lazy. There’s also some sort of paint or other material that’s made a noticeable red stain on the fretboard, which was a bit disappointing. Grade: BSound:The pickups sound surprisingly good. I was especially impressed by the sweetness of the neck pickup, and sustain is also better than I expected. They can handle any tone or style, from blues to metal. They’re not quite as versatile as I hoped, however. They don’t clean up very well when you turn the volume down, but that’s a minor issue for a beginner. The tone knob is similarly limited, lacking the range that other guitars have. Grade: A-Extras:This comes with a decent gig bag, a strap, a guitar cable, three picks, and a fret sanding sponge. I’ve never seen the latter included with a guitar before, but it’s nice to have. These are mostly decent quality items, but I wish they’d also included a tuner. That’s a basic device that all beginners will need. The gig bag looks very nice and I’m glad it was included, but the quality isn’t especially high. It’ll be fine for most needs, but I don’t think it will be super durable. Grade: B+Final Verdict:This guitar has some room for improvement, but it’s a decent beginner instrument that looks great, sounds awesome, and plays very well. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it, and I’m genuinely pleased with my purchase. I think $269.99 is a decent price for a package like this, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to shop around a little before buying. My rating: 4 stars
Really really nice guitar, especially for the price
Surprisingly nice to play and decent quality all around, setup well out of the box, just needed to tune strings up a bit and ready to play. Pickups also sound very good considering entry level guitar. Tuners hold tune pretty well as well. Frets nicely finished, a few barely detectable flaws in the paint finish, the plastics on back of body have a bit of rough edges but nothing too bad. Lots of accessories of decent quality included. Overall, for the price (especially on sale!) this is the most value I have experienced in an electric guitar purchase.
