Okay, I was a little skeptical that this would work because it comes with three q-tips like swabs and my dog doesn't like to have anything put in their mouth and is very sensitive about their teeth and gums. I assumed that they give you three swabs because you often don't get enough viable DNA material from a swab.We were pleasantly surprised that we did get DNA results on the first try and didn't have to redo the process--even though we really struggled just to get a swab across our dog's tongue briefly on all three attempts.The results were more detailed than I expected as well--they give you a breakdown on the DNA and then map a possible "family tree." See photos attached.I had resisted buying one of these kits because it is nonessential and seemed like a waste of money, but I am glad we finally did it and know more about our pet's traits and genetic makeup. Happy with the results--would recommend.

Do not buy from this company. They are horrible to work with and it takes forever to get your results. There is very little customer service no phone number you can call and I question the authenticity of the results

I am extremely pleased with this product. I've been wanting to do a DNA test on my dog to help me understand her mannerisms and characteristics better. I followed the directions per the brochure and sent the samples in regular mail. Kokogenetics provides everything you need including labels to send your test in. They estimated 4-6 weeks, and by about 6 weeks the results were online. I was pleasantly surprised by the information that was provided in the online portal. I sat and read through everything, finding new information, including a Family Tree!! If you're on the fence, this is your sign to purchase this specific kit. Well worth every penny!!

My only reason for 4 stars would be the time it took to receive my results. The test went to Europe. Everything else went very smooth. I would use this company again, just keep in mind that it will be a while before receiving your results.

Very good results that described my dog's traits and amazed to see her breed makeup. She's a rescue and we were curious if she has any Sheppard and chihuahua mixture and this test confirmed it. We were surprised that she also has an akita mix which explains her cream and golden color. Did have to wait about 3.5 weeks for the result.

I rescued a small dog from the pound. He was completely mated and disgusting to put mildly. I knew he had poodle in him but never expected for him to be 100% purebred miniature poodle. I am so glad I done this DNA on him. It did not really matter to me if he was a mut. I did it just because I'm nosey.

The Koko DNA Test was an amazing experience for me. It provided me with accurate and detailed information in an easy to digest format. The test offers an incredibly detailed report on the breed, health, and traits of your pup. It was so easy to use and the results were given to me in a timely manner.The best part about the Koko DNA Test is that it tests for over 150 breeds, giving an incredibly accurate result. All I had to do was take a small sample of my pup’s saliva and send it in. From there, the lab did its job and soon enough I had detailed information about my pup.The report was incredibly helpful and gave me a better understanding of my pup’s breed, which was especially helpful for me as a first-time dog owner. I also was provided with detailed information about my pup’s health which was incredibly useful and reassuring.

Verlässliche Abwicklung und nachvollziehbares Ergebnis
Seit einigen Monaten lebt eine Hündin aus dem Tierheim bei uns und immer wieder kam die Frage auf, was für eine Mischung verschiedener Rassen sich in Ihr befinden mögen. Äußere Erscheinung sprach sehr viel für einen Cocker Spaniel, aber die Ohren zu kurz, das Fell nicht dicht genug und auch etwas zu groß gewachsen. Ein Gordon Setter wäre auch möglich, aber dann wiederum viel zu klein gewachsen...Um "Licht ins Dunkel" zu bringen wurde dann der Entschluss gefasst, es mit einem DNA-Test zu versuchen. Der Vergleich verschiedener Anbieter am Markt und begleitender Berichte ließ aber dennoch Fragen offen - die Preisspanne unterscheidet sich teils sehr stark und manche Berichte von Hundebesitzern, die bereits Tests (bei verschiedenen Anbietern) durchführten, waren teils sehr enttäuscht und andere sehr glücklich. Am Ende kam kein eindeutiges Ergebnis und deshalb "Probieren geht über studieren".Die Auswahl für den Anbieter Koko war letztlich eine Preisfrage - der Anbieter selbst noch recht jung (?) am Markt und bisher keine wirklichen Informationen zu finden. Ein kleiner Vorteil bei Koko scheint zudem die Lagerung und Transport der Proben in einer Flüssigkeit - bei anderen Anbietern sollen die entnommen Proben erst getrocknet werden etc. was mir persönlich umständlich erschien.Die Bestellung über Bolo sowie die Lieferung der Teststäbchen samt Unterlagen für den Rückversand ging sehr flott.Die Entnahme der Probe ist recht einfach - zwei Wattestäbchen, im hinteren oberen Gaumenbereich ein paar Sekunden wischen, ab damit in das Röhrchen (mit einer Flüssigkeit schon vorbefüllt) und das ganze ein zweites Mal wiederholt. Dann ab in die Kiste für den Versand, kurz über QR-Code auf der Webseite die ID registrieren, Versandetikett erhalten und verschicken. Die Abwicklung damit ebenfalls sehr unproblematisch.Der Versand wurde per Mail bestätigt, ebenfalls der Eingang der Lieferung und 1-2 Statusmails, dass die Untersuchung läuft. Die Zeit wird mit 5-6 Wochen angegeben - bei mir waren es 34 Tage von Eingang der Proben bis zur Bereitstellung der Ergebnisse.Die Ergebnisseite ist sehr aufgeräumt und wirkt auf den ersten Blick vielleicht etwas leer. Aber wozu auch große grafische Aufmachungen oder ähnliches - am wichtigsten sind die Ergebnisse und die sind gut zu lesen. Es gibt eine Tortengrafik, die prozentual die Anteile der Rassen anzeigt (bei mir tatsächlich 59% Cocker Spaniel und ein paar weitere Rassen) und zu jeder ermittelten Rasse eine Kurzbeschreibung der Eigenheiten und Herkunft. Für mich vollkommen ausreichend und zufriedenstellend.Als weiteres gibt es noch eine Auswertung von Merkmalen - vor allem hinsichtlich Fellzeichnung etc. Brauche ich aber nicht - mir ging es nur um die Rassen.Ich bin sehr zufrieden und habe für 77€ (85€ abzüglich einer Rabattaktion) ein verständliches und nachvollziehbares Ergebnis erhalten. Die verschiedenen Rassen sind glaubhaft und nachvollziehbar. Ob ein anderer DNA-Test vergleichbare Ergebnisse bringt, kann ich nicht beurteilen - habe nur einen gemacht.

Senza conoscere caratteristiche, aspetto fisico del cane il test ha centrato in pieno la razza dominante dell'incrocio. Interessante anche i risultati ricevuti riguardo le altre razze coinvolte. Molto affidabile. Utile l'ipotesi genealogica e la presenza o meno di geni legati a determinate patologie specifiche.
