1.0 out of 5 stars Left and right triggers don't have analog functionality.
The media could not be loaded. This controller should not be on the market. It’s missing a critical feature: analog support for the L and R triggers (those are the shoulder buttons, like on an Xbox controller). That means there are no gradual values, just an all or nothing press. You have to squeeze the triggers all the way down before they register anything at all.At first, I thought it was a driver issue. But when I tested it in the built in Windows controller diagnostic, I saw the problem clearly: the analog triggers don’t report any values at all. Only the full press is detected, with nothing in between. This is a major flaw. Some games won’t be affected, but others depend on analog input. For example, in Super Mario Sunshine (a very popular GameCube game), the right trigger is used to spray water. Half-pressing the trigger lets you run and spray at the same time. Fully pressing the trigger makes Mario stop moving so you can aim precisely. Without analog support, you can’t spray while running, which completely changes how the game plays. That’s not just annoying—it ruins the experience. And I wouldn’t be surprised if some games become literally unplayable without analog triggers.I’ve included a video showing the Windows test. You’ll see that pressing the triggers all the way down does something, but there’s no response at all when pressing them partially, which confirms they’re missing analog detection. As far as I’m concerned, this borders on a scam. If you market a controller as GameCube controller, it should include all of the GameCube’s controller features. I’m considering reporting this to Nintendo, since it reflects badly on their brand.I’m not going to bother returning it, I'll just throw it away. I’d rather use an Xbox controller and give up the GameCube layout entirely than play without full trigger functionality.
4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap but functional
Only issue is that the main A button sticks sometimes. Not enough for me to take it apart to try and fix it, but just enough to annoy me. Only real complaint though.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great GameCube-ish Controller!
I bought this controller to play emulated GameCube games on my PC. Turns out I didn't need it. My Xbox One controller plugged into my PC works fine when mapped properly. Still a cool controller just to have laying around if I want the TRUE GameCube experience. Such an iconic controller layout. Worked great at a great price!
2.0 out of 5 stars No analog function on triggers
the trigger buttons lack analog functionality. they only register a full press. makes some games unplayable
1.0 out of 5 stars Does not configure correctly.
Bad controller. Don’t buy it. The C-pad and the A and B buttons configure as the same buttons. It’s terrible. You are trying to push A and it pushes C simultaneously. Can’t return now because it’s been over 30 days and I just tried to configure.
5.0 out of 5 stars Retro gaming for my PC
This is a replacement after my other one had it due to several frustrations on some of the levels I played on MAGMML3 and it works good as the previous, plus it's translucent which is a thing of the 90s' which is the era I grew up in.Hopefully not to let some of the levels on MAGMML2 get to me too much
3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work with my pc
I purchased this to use with a Gamecube emulator on my pc. The pc recognized the control but the emulator did not. Unfortunately, this type of item is non-returnable as per Bolo rules so I had to eat the cost.
Faulty buttons
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Using controller mapping software on my pc, I quickly realised that the L and R triggers only register when fully pressed (unable to lightly press, which is essential for many games), and also the c-stick doesn't register a left and right, only up and down. Controller shell looks nice, but feels really cheap. I could've gotten over the build quality if it weren't for the trigger / c-stick issues.
