This adds a nice heat to almost any recipe. The flavor is not overpowering, so the powder in easy to use.

Bird's eye chili peppers are native to Mexico but are cultivated and popularly used in Southeast Asia. They have a respectable heat level and a unique fruity flavor.This is a powdered version, and that fruity flavor is as expected in a dry form, as fresh as a dried version can be. It has a solid heat commensurate with the fresh version, and as dried, hits a little later in the back of the palate compared to fresh. It has a deep red color that can be imbued into food.First thing I made with it was Thai barbecue noodles, basically a Thai ketchup sauce recipe using this as a the chili powder tossed with noodles. It was delicious. It's a great addition to my pantry chili pantheon and I just might work it into my my own chili powder mix since it's leaning a little too dark and rich, so this can brighten it up.
