I have to say this speaker is way better than i imagined and that i underestimated how loud it might get, Before I bought it I watched a bunch of reviews saying it was "Quiet" and those were a bunch of lies the sound quality is amazing, the bass is nice and boomy, and has nice low end. Another aspect of this speaker is it's size it is smaller than i imagined and from what i saw in the videos that i saw Sony really took "Portable" into consideration when designing this speaker. This is a high quality product that i can't even put into words it is made of recycled plastic material and the texture is smooth and really nice overall, I prioritize bass when it comes to speakers and this really did the job. The battery life is excellent it hasn't died yet and the lowest its been was 40% which is what it was when it arrived. This is also really good for it's price I caught it on sale even after christmas and paid $41.23 instead of $59.99. So i do have to say i recommend this to anyone out there looking for a small protable speaker that they can carry around and throw in a bag easily with good sound quality, gets really loud, and has good deep bass that is boomy.

It really is waterproof and still keeps working I was caught in the rain and I intentionally didn't secure it in a plastic bag already in my bookbag like I did my phone about 20 minutes in heavy rain I pressed play still stuck in the rain amazing it is a loud speaker you can hear the extra bass as it sounds like speakers rattling in a car ignore other reviews saying it's not loud I have two phones so it depends on your devices one phone is louder than the other both are Motorola as I realized before the speaker the upgraded phone is not as loud and the previous phone is louder so with that one the speaker is very very loud good battery life as well I think you should realize it's a very loud speaker other than that it goes with the flow of your devices it's worth buying and it's portable and handy it answers the phone it even rings when it's a phone call given this review once you purchase you will be amazed

Half a pop cans size, not very loud but.... crystal clear and great bass for it's size. Perfect for small apartments. Sony fan for sure. Got mine in opened box deal. Looks 100 % new.

I bought this to replace an older and heavier bluetooth speaker. The sound is rich and full especially in a hotel room space, and its super small and light to easily fit in my backpack. The connection is easy with iPhone, and holds a charge well.

Wanted Christmas music when visiting friends and family during the season. Everyone listens to everything on their phone, people don't have stereo systems anymore and this worked a treat for sharing my extensive library. Received many compliments and thanks. Some people in other reviews said it sounded tinny, but the music was deep and rich for me. Ran for 12 hours straight Christmas day, people wouldn't let me turn it off so I had to leave my phone there, and it still had plenty of charge when I came back to pick it up. Yes, it works in the shower too. It was easy to set up, but that's expected for Bluetooth these days.

TLDR: It's a fantastic little speaker for the price! Perfect if your laptop or phone speaker just isn't cutting it.Long Version:I needed something for listening to music or watching youtube videos as I'm cooking or cleaning. My phone and laptop just can barely keep up as I move around cooking or cleaning a few feet away. This speaker is great for filling the house with volume!While I try not to push speakers and amps much past 50% volume, to avoid overwhelming or over heating them. The volume of the Sony XB13 remains gentle and quiet until you get to 50% volume. Then it scales up rapidly just like you see in the Rting review. At first, I thought it was extremely quiet compared to the JBL Go 3.It was only after writing my first review, I decided to investigate the Rting's spec sheets. I couldn't understand that the Sony was within 1 DB of peak loudness with the Go 3 when it felt a quarter as loud. After pushing it to pushing it to 70-80% volume, I discovered that the loudness scales up exponentially to it's peak. It filled the entire house with sound at 70%, just as I had hoped for.This design of exponentially increasing volume is actually brilliant, because you can finely set the volume when you need it to be quiet. Then you can still get it loud and clear when you need it as well! Quite brilliant in my opinion. It really took me a while to appreciate this thing, now I love it!It's a fantastic little speaker if you can get one on sale for around $40! Almost unbeatable in this price range when you consider the price of buying speakers with an amp.

I have owned quite a few speakers in my time, from small to large, wireless and powered. This one stands out for its richness in volume, loud enough for an outdoor environment and small enough to carry anywhere. Connection to my Samsung phone no issues, no loss in connection, smooth play. Good speaker for the money.

Small, tastefully designed, easily removable strap so I can have it on my desk. I was hesitant about black, but it looks sharp and good quality. Sound quality is great. Overall super happy! I tried some obscure brands before getting this one but they had issues with bluetooth connectivity, and frankly looked not that great, finally decided to go back to sony, I’m happy I did. Quality is quality!
