The wood and stain is perfect! Exactly as it is depicted in the photos and the weight of these made for easy install. We had purchased another brand from another company and they looked cheap. These are well crafted and exactly as expected. Great find!
4.0 out of 5 stars If you are mounting on a uneven stone wall, look elsewhere
The mantle itself is very nice looking and well built but the wood cleat u stick on the wall is this tiny little thing that is very difficult for the mantle to grab hold of if your wall is natural, uneven stone. Would have been nice if the cleat was bigger, thicker, deeper so that even if your wall isn't so square, there is still enough cleat for the mantle to grab hold of. If it's off by just a smidge, the cleat and overhang on the inside of the mantle don't line up properly, or at all, and you won't be able to screw into both the mantle and cleat to make them one and secure it to the wall. The cleat is this very narrow sliver of wood. My wall required me to put various shims behind the wooden cleat so that the stone would not get in the way of the mantle and prevent the two wooden surfaces from mating evenly. I even had to chisel the rock a bit in one spot. If it was a bigger cleat, sticking out from the wall further, there would be more surface area for the mantle to rest/hang on and get the screws into. Looks nice, just took a lot of work on my end. I was about to make my own cleat out of a bigger piece of wood, but it worked out and looks nice. If you are mounting on a sheetrock wall, u won't have this problem and it will be a breeze.

We've been doing some redecorating and I've always wanted a mantle, especially at Christmas to hang stockings. I ordered this beautiful mantle a week ago and didn't realize it had even arrived until I saw my order had arrived through my Bolo account. I ran into the living room and saw that my boyfriend had already installed it! I just love the finished look this gives to our living room. The craftsmanship of this mantle is stunning. He said even though he did it alone, it was easy to install Oh yeah, he also painted the original 1968 marble fireplace surround and the brass doors last week.

I bought for a new build. The fireplace wall was not flat and the attachment system for this is a single thin strip of pine. Does not accomodate any adjustments for that. Very flimsly thin board to attach mantel to. Screws broke trying to screw through it and split the attachment piece to in doing so. Pine is too soft a wood for bracing this size of mantel.

This mantel is even better than it looks on the pictures. Good quality. Easy installation.
The mantle looks absolutely fabulous!
I just love the look and finish. It completes our room.
