This is a set of 4 pairs (8 total) of plates. Two of each of the weights: 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 pound. They are made to be put on adjustable dumbbells or barbells having a 1" diameter bar. I have a number of adjustable dumbbells of different styles and from different manufacturers. These fit perfectly on all of them. (But be sure you have a standard 1" bar, as there are non-standard ones out there!) Most standard plate weights generally bottom out at 2.5 lbs (there are some 1.25 lb ones out there, but they can be hard to find), so these are really handy to get smaller step increases for the weights, particularly with dumbbells which often require you to add 4 plates at a time (two for each hand), for balance.These are top quality. Their weights are bang on, easy to slide on, and they have a beautiful, flawless finish -- color coded so you immediately see if you've got the right weights even if the label is obscured. These are powder coated for goodness sake -- a very hard, durable finish! Very resistant to chipping. My oldest set is well over a year now, and they still look as good as new. They simply put all my other workout equipment to shame! I loved these so much, I bought 4 sets, so I could micro adjust my dumbbells to my heart's content.Note that they also sell the plates in different combinations. I bought a few extra 1/4 lb ones separately so that I could throw one on to compensate for my decades-old crappy no-name plates that are always off-weight by random amounts.I do need to point out that I consider these as mostly a luxury item in my gym. They are pricy! I managed just fine without them for decades, and I would never have bought these in my 20s, for example, when I needed to focus on getting the most bang for my buck. That said, if you have the budget for these, there are some things they are really practical for. For example, I appreciate them for their small diameter and low weights for doing reverse wrist curls and other low-weight exercises where finer adjustments is valuable, and my young son is thrilled to be able to have this kind of fine adjustment because if you can't lift much, then a couple pounds (really twice that because you generally want to balance the two ends) can be a frustratingly big step!Could I live without them? Probably. But I don't want to!

I like these. I am doing physical therapy for a shoulder injury and they are perfect for gradually increasing resistance. Even the size and shape gives more options for specific painful areas

Good quality fractional weight plates. The coating feels like it should last. A bit pricey for such small weight plates. But they are great from smaller weight increases for alot of exercises.

Love the color coding! Nice thick coating of paintBetter to have these and adjustable weight dumbbells than to keep a full array of handweights. With an injury and doing light weights for PT, it helps to be able to increment the weight finely. I tested them on my little scale, the weights are quite accurate, too.If anything, I would suggest that the seller give an optional set with four of each selected weight, as I needed two sets in order to make incremental changes to the two dumbbells. My preference would’ve been a set of four 1/2 lb & 1 lb weights.

Excellent quality. Nicely branded, good presentation. Very accurate weights. Fits standard 1inch bars only. If you're using the average cast standard weight plates make sure you use the same plates each time as those plates tend to differ to their marked weight or weight of other brands. This would compromise the use of micro plates from one weight session to the other. This is why micro plates are more suitable and generally made for Olympic plates. Or slide on micro plates for fixed weight bars.You can use 1/2kg plates or extra collars (approx 1/4kg) or short chains (weighed) for micro gains on standard bars. Micro plates are just more convenient and refined.

Great for Making Small Progress!
I love these little weights, they are the perfect addition to my home gym. I often have a hard time increasing weight by 2.5 - 5 lbs, especially for arm exercises. These help me continually progress and grow!They are great quality and I love the little bag they come in. The only thing that would make they slightly better is if they had colour markings to distinguish the sets of weight. The weight is on them, but it would just make it quicker to find, nothing serious!I will be looking into the ones to add to dumbbells as well!
