I'm not a fan of the joycons that come with the nintendo switch. They are playable in a pinch, but I like a real D-Pad, and I find that the "D-Pad" and the analog stick are uncomfortably close.I've tried quite a few other Joycon alternatives, and the RetroFlag Switch Handheld Controller is by far the best one.HORI Split Pad Pro is tried and tested, and is the standard when it comes to joycon alternatives, but to me, it kinda feels cheap, and it doesn't have gyro which is necessary for some games.Binbok feels less cheap, but the D-Pad is really, really bad. Especially if you use it often, there's some sticky pads underneath it that eventually come loose and make the D-Pad feel horrible. I don't like Binbok.I've tried NYXI. I've had two different sets of joycons, and while they work well, shortly into their lifespan they started randomly disconnecting while I was playing a game. It doesn't happen that often, but it's often enough that it's very noticable, and it's often enough that I can't recommend NYXI.This, however, is wonderful. The Analog stick is solid, the d-pad is amazing, the buttons are perfect, the whole thing is durable.I love that the right analog stick has the aesthetic of the gamecube, the entire aesthetic of the controller is good (even though I'm not a fan of the partially transparent plastic, I wish there were better casing alternatives). The grip feels wonderful, it doesn't have too much added bulk compared to a lot of other joycon alternatives that are actually controllers that connect through the USB port. It has Gyro, and vibration.Just make if you get it, you know there's a setting you have to use in your switch settings (Pro Controller Wired Communication) or else the controller won't work.

First of all this grip rocks the GameCube controller feel and aesthetic. It is as comfortable to use as it is pleasing to the eyes. I have owned several grip cases and own two Nexigo grip controllers, but this has quickly become my all time favorite when playing my Switch in handheld mode.The buttons are incredibly responsive and the joysticks are a dream. And from what I have read the way this was built you shouldn't have to worry about the dreaded joycon drift with this bad boy.I saw another review for the controller grip and they gave it a 2 star review claiming this grip "scratched up the sides of their Switch." I have to say that is 100% user error. I have the OLED model and this grip fits snug but comfortably. The only way you are going to scratch your Switch with this grip is if you are trying to put it on blindfolded with one arm tied behind your back. No disrepct to that reviewer intended.In all seriousness though this is an easy five star review from me. If I had to find one thing to criticize it would be that because of the size it is hard to find a carrying case that this will fit into comfortably. I like to take my Switch with me on most overnight trips and I like the security a travel case offers against drops and scratches. Just means I have to get a little more creative when on the go. Aside from that the device itself deserves a perfect 5☆ .

After watching several Switch handheld grip reviews online, I finally settled on the RetroFlag. It’s easy to slide the Switch in and I like the felt-like finish where the switch rests. Removal is easy as you just gently push up from the bottom of the Switch console.The buttons and tiggers feel snappy and I like the GameCube thumb stick. I’m not a fan of the classic C button stick but I knew I could deal with it when I purchased.Best of all it’s comfortable. The the plastic finish feels pretty good and not cheap. After a couple of hours of play, I expected to see hand grease or palm sweat stains on the plastic where the buttons are located but there is nothing so far.I also got these for the Hall effect sticks. Only time will tell but they seem pretty good so far. I play a ton of fighting games but always choose to get them the on other consoles because the joy cons and other controllers on switch either got the infamous stick drift or had bad dead zones.I can say after a few hours of KOF 98, I can pull off moves with ease.It would be perfect if it had matching left and right thumb sticks.

It feels so comfortable in my hands and buttons are bigger than the joy cons though they’re a little noisy to press them but that doesn’t bother me.

Love the feel of this handheld, I almost forget its the switch! Controls feel amazing and I love the throwback look of the gamecube. Power and connecting controller is straightforward and you only have to do it once.The switch is not locked into the controller is probably the only negative but it does fit firm enough just dont go tossing it around of course. This has got me dusting off the device and actually using it handheld again on trips. Highly recommend!

Simply does not work. Got it for my oled and it detected it for 30 second and I was able to use it in game then it suddenly stopped working. I've done every measure possible to get this to work but it doesnt. It still however charges the switch with it connected and allows you to swap button mappings but nothing else. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this product.

Looks pretty but feels a little cheap/ flimsy in person. For some reason it doesn't work with CTR: Nitro Fueled so its not compatible with every games apparently. works fine with Mario Kart though. All in all I'm sure they're better options out there but this one isn't bad.

Dieser Controller ist genau das wonach ich gesucht habe.Stabil (nicht so wie die Wackel-Joy-Cons) und er liegt sehr gut in der Hand.Bisher hatte ich immer Angst dass ich die Joy-Cons abbrechen könnte mit meinen grossen Händen und durch die Arbeit habe ich auch etwas mehr Kraft in den Händen.Mit diesem Controller werde ich sicher wieder öfters mobil zocken.Klare Kaufempfehlung!
Nothing short of incredible. just buy it if you play handheld
The OLED fits nice and snug, I like that where your system goes in it's a nice soft material so it doesn't damage your system.The buttons are nice and clicky, the dpad is more of a smooth press which I like. Both triggers feel very smooth, I don't feel any resistance or scratchiness.This feels like a proper Nintendo accessory, it feels good in my hands, it all feels very secure.Honnestly id say this feels even better quality than a pro controller.If you're on the fence about this I would say just buy it, you won't regret it.
Comfortable and easy to use
Very comfortable to hold and play, and the passthrough charging is a nice touch.
Does not support NFC unlike the title and description states
The size is great for those with large hands, it feels very natural to hold. Buttons and sticks are very clicky. The triggers; they are large, you won't need to worry about accidental presses when using them and the ZL and ZR are concaved in the center zone so it's easy to maintain a grip on them when playing something like a racing game. Motion controls are supported. Overall a 10/10 controller, I give a 4/5 stars because the title and description state NFC is supported which it isn't, I tested this with the amiibo function in Kirby all-stars and it gave the error that no controllers with NFC were detected.
0/10 Doesn’t work with OLED & Scratches bad
Doesn’t work with OLED & Scratches the sides bad. Bought this for my daughter and imagine her disappointment when it was difficult to put in the device, it then it would not connect and she couldn’t play her games, and then taking it out to see the sides completely scratched and ratchet looking. Not seeing any fixes online for this “plug and play” device regarding the oled not working despite being advertised as being functional with both LCD and OLED versions of the gen 1 switch. The build quality was poorer than expected as well, the felt padding was a nice touch but whoever put those securing metal bits should get a bat to the head. The whole device Crackled in my hands passing it to my daughter, as a show of poor craftsmanship. It Also leaves very little room to remove games as the area to grip the securement strap for the game slot is slightly harder to reach with the switch in the device and had it worked she probably wouldn’t have been very happy with it after a while. Will be seeking a refund. Do not buy if you have the OLED switch 1.
