5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, complete package.
This kit has everything, glue, stirring sticks, plastic sheet to stir on, and even plastic gloves. Easy to get the right proportions. I used it to attach a bracket that had rusted off of my propane tank on my RV. Worked really well. Put a 2nd coat on after 5 hours just to be on the safe side. Easy to use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and really works, even for a beginner.
My outdoor metal sofa was damaged during a storm. It was blown around the deck and one leg was almost severed. After many calls to find someone who could fix it with no success, it was headed for land fill. I found this product and with some very strong glue, it is sturdy and looks like new. I’m a 76 woman and a proud DIY. Great product. Now I’m going to repair cracks in my metal gutters.😀
4.0 out of 5 stars Cure Time Longer/Applicator Uncomfortable/Still a Good Product
I'm used to quicker cure epoxy and didn't initially realize the cure time on this is a minimum of 5 hours and can be up to 24 hours. But, after it fully cures, it appears to be very strong. Main dislike with the product is that the applicator for the two tubes is not very ergonomic (unlike Gorilla Glue epoxy which has a comfortable applicator) and it's painful on the fingers to depress the plungers. Still, the epoxy product itself seems to be pretty good in terms of metal adhesion although I've not yet subjected it to heavier pressure.
5.0 out of 5 stars Actually works!
I have a corrugated metal fence around my backyard, and the bottoms of some of the panels were rusted out. I couldn't afford to replace all the panels, so instead I cut strips of metal to glue to the bottom (the transition to the older pieces being hidden by a crossbar). I thought I could just use Steelstik and it would be an easy fix, but the Steelstik didn't work! The pieces kept falling off and I thought I had wasted a lot of time and money. Then I found this glue on Bolo and only had to use a small amount to get the corrugated panels to stick together. I'm very happy with this glue and will purchase again if some of the other panels fall off.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really bonds well
I thought I was going to have to mix the solutions up and it was going to be messy but the twin tubes resolved that issue. Quuck and easy to mix and apply. I used it to repair a broken iron bench guard rail. It was easy to apply and after 24 hrs it felt rick solid. I even bang it againdt my work bench and it held. Definitely recommend this product for small metal repairs.
3.0 out of 5 stars Did not work for my project
I had an iron dragonfly garden ornament that one wing fell off of and with all the raving about this product, I had high hopes but it did not work. Mixed like it said, braced the wing on the body, waited 24 hours before moving it... put it back in the garden and an hour later the wing fell off. I really didn't think it would work but so many people had so many great reviews. I think the wing was too heavy. Maybe a good product but not for everything.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great epoxy that sets quickly
Mix is well and this stuff bonds and sets quickly. Pay attention to cure time, which can take much longer than shown in the instructions, especially if you have something that can separate easily. Don’t expect to be repairing mufflers or radiators with any epoxy like this. Those types of things really need welding.
1.0 out of 5 stars Good product, bad retailer
Works great. Good strong bond. i love the product, not the place that sells this.Last time I bought 5 boxes, I use a lot of thisOil poured out and the rest was like a rock. Could bearly get the apoxie out. This happened with 4 of the 5 tubes I boughtI think this was sitting on the shelf for years and they just dump it on Bolo customers.
Fantastic stuff and strong (2 x repairs done with it so far)
This 2 part metal glue which is easily used by pushing the plungers, extruding the adhesive and hardener for mixing into a glue paste is exceptionally strong and works a treat for metal surfaces.I had a slight leak on a copper pipe connection so after isolating the water supply and drying the surface out thought I'd give this a go to see if it can carry out a temporary repair to stop the dripping (I tried tightening the nuts and replace the olives but nothing worked so until I get a chance to replace the pipework and connection this glue will do the job)I left the applied paste for just over 24hours and anxiously turned the water supply back on to see if my efforts had paid off. No drips :-)This was on a cold water supply pipe to the loo, so I'm not sure how it would cope with hot water pipes such as radiator pipes and the like but it certainly repaired the leaking joint on the cold pipe.I'd say the price is right for this type of glue and use is very easy with some accessories supplied to aid mixing such as wooden sticks and gloves.Always wear gloves when working with adhesive.I like these syringe dispensing systems as provided you push evenly on the plunger you virtually always get equal parts and the glue left over inside the tubes tends to keep for some time ready for the next repair.Working time with this stuff is also really good and gives you plenty of time to work with it until it begins hardening and curing.I would definitely buy this again and impressed with the ease.Review update 17th October 2023I had to update my review and really give this metal glue a further thumbs up for its next job that I used it for.I had a blowing exhaust on my car, a small hole in one of the connection points about an inch in length by about 5mm wide and I used this to block the hole up.I mixed the parts equally again and applied to the hole in the exhaust and allowed it to dry for 24hrs.A week later and the glue is still holding strong and stopping the exhaust from blowing despite it being under constant high temperatures and weathering etc. This repair was done to the back end of the exhaust system near the back boxes and has done a great job at bridging the crack/hole until I get round to repairing that part.Brilliant stuff and I'll definitely purchase this again when needed.Quick review update: 18th March 2024:Needed to use some more of this on the exhaust again to help block a hole on the exhaust and the glue was ready to use so has kept well under normal storage conditions (was about 3/4 tubes left)Make sure you clean both ends of the caps before storing and you shouldn't have any issues when you come to using it again. Great stuff and I'll be buying this again.
A good metal glue easy to dispense and mix
I'm a big fan of araldite and prefer a two mix epoxy to any other glue. This is similar in design and being a plunger type makes it easy to extract the same quantity of resin and hardener at the same time. It seems to dry reasonably quickly and the bond is very strong.I'm not so impressed with the tube design. The plunders are separate rather then coming as part of the tubes. And I feel that the two nozzles are too close to each other. Although there's a twist top which can only be put on the correct way round, a little epoxy or hardener that leaks to the other tube opening will likely result in a top that bonds permanently. So extra care has to be taken to ensure both nozzles are clear before replacing the top.Plastic gloves, a couple of mixing sticks and a mixing board make up the kit.Overall pretty decent.
Decent product
A decent metal glue kit that's put together reasonably wellIt's easy to mix up and works a treatThe working time is ok and it does exactly what it's supposed to doThe price may sound a little high but it's a good product that's worth trying
Mended a broken pressure cooker handle and holding strong
My trusty ancient pressure cooker is broken. The handle has broken right off with no way to put it back. The fixing for the handle is a steel rod and steel bolt but the rod has worn away enough that the bolt no longer holds onto it and cant be got out either.I saw this metal to metal glue and thought it would be a very good challenge for it.Firstly will it hold it back together enough to make it useable again?Yes it is holding strong!Secondly will it cope with getting hot?So far so good..Lastly will it cope with being washed? No problem with getting it wet .Saved me a goodly sum over getting another pressure cooker and saved my trusty pan.You get the double tube with plunger, mixing card, two wooden mixing sticks and a pair of plastic gloves. The stuff pushes out of each hole evenly and you mix it.Then there is a 20 minute using window.Parts to be stuck must be clean so some wire wool and a wire brush are a good thing to use to get the surface as stable as possible .Its cured in 5 hours (feels hard and dry)but they recommend 24 hours till using .I managed to get a glob of glue up into the end and also glued the sleeve bit back in place with a bead of glue squidged out all round. It is possible to shut the rest of the glue back in to keep for another use.I stuck one of the gloves in under the closing cap so that when opening again, if it glues shut (as has happened with epoxy glues in the past) I can still get the cap off.Would recommend this, it is easy to use, not overpoweringly smelly and does the job.
Very good value for money
This metal glue is great value for £9.99. It is relatively easy and straightforward to use and works well.
