THIS PART MATTERS, people. I know from life experience what high lead levels in blood can do to a child, and it is really important to check.Products that contain added flouride and whitening ingredients also typically contain trace amounts of lead. A small amount of lead is hard to avoid in the rocks used to make tooth cleaning products, but some contain a lot more than others, and more than is allowed in food. The difference is toothpaste quality is not policed by any overseeing agency, so you need to do the research. This gel has repeatedly tested low or zero for anything harmful, which is amazing, especially considering the price!!! Bonus that it also contains less plastic derived ingredients than even 'natural' brand had, less plastic than drbrowns had, less lead than toms.Double score if your child doesn't have a reaction to it, a negative response to the taste, or they like the characters on the tube I guess (I don't know what a Coco melon is, but Elmo is classic!)

Okay so I’m an adult that sometimes uses this toothpaste because I found it on “Lead Safe Mama.” Giving it 5 stars because it has a great taste and is free of heavy metals. It’s not really “abrasive” though, so I’m not sure how well it cleans, but I use this as my secondary toothpaste. I brush 4 times a day and use this for my “wake up” cleaning and midday cleaning.

When her parents complained of it, we correctly identified that it was the toothpaste they’d been using with her (a yucky flavor that made her despise the process). This affordable 2-pack saved her little smile, and now she looks forward to brushing twice a day! That’s a win for me. Best aunt ever award? I’ll take it.The little Cocomelon character on the bottle is also pretty exciting. After she brushed her teeth, she was so excited to tell me all about her new Cocomelon toothpaste! Grandaughter truly enjoys brushing her teeth. She is almost 2 and loves the characters on the toothpaste. It is easy to squeeze out and I feel confident if she swallows a little it doesn't make her sick.The size is a little smaller than I would like but it does make it easier for her to hold.
