I had rogue flat plates for the last 5 years and they have done their job fairly well but are flat! I heard from friends that the curved plates were way more fitting and comfortable so I gave wolf tac a try!I wear my vest for a myriad of workouts! I run up to 5 miles with a vest+weight plates, I do functional training cycles, I do ruck workouts, and more importantly do the Murph Crossfit workout in this vest! I own a 5.11 vest that is a tad bit heavier than regular vests, but I bought it on base for cheaper than other versions. I normally use this vest once a week during warmer weather to train with additional weight.So back to the plates...the flat rogue plates are just heavy steel plates that essentially and naturally don't flex so you are stuck with how they feel against your body. The biggest disadvantage to the flat plates is when you are trying to do squats, bend down, or do anything other than be straight. In the Murph workout, you do 300 body squats and my rogue plates always pinch my top upper thigh due to my bulkier legs. I always have to hold the vest up as I squat to prevent injury. Additionally, the rogue plates started peeling 2 years ago but not a deal breaker since they are inside my vest. I just hit them with fresh primer, paint and believe or not, flex seal.Again, heard that curved plates were amazing and decided to give wolf tac a try after reading all positive and negative reviews on these plates and others. I recieved the plates packed as good as they could be, with no damage or scratches on the plates but the box was screaming for life. I immediately swapped out the rogue for the wolf tac in my vest and they fit with no issues. Just as a size comparison, I placed the rogue and wolf tac on top of each other and they are nearly identical in size (bend didnt make it a noticeable chsnge in length), length and width. I went ahead and skipped the trial and did a Murph workout with these plates the very same day! First observation was that the curve in these plates hugged my body and was 1000 times more comfortable than having flat plates that feels like a frying pan against your body. I chose the 8.75 to get a full 20 pounds with vest for the workout. Second observation was that these vest plates seem to bounce less than the flat plates (both are highly secured by straps in the vest). I ran and didn't have to hold them down due to the fitment on my body. Third observation is how they hug my body. Looking at the curve it didn't seem like it would fit my bigger frame (muscular chest). But I immediately felt the difference when I slipped on my vest and felt the curvature of the plate hugging my frame! It felt great! Fourth observation was how it did during squats. Because of the curve, the bottom of the plate no longer hits my thighs and I'm able to freely do my body squats. Complete win! Fifth observation for those wondering about weight differences...these felt like the Rogue plates in weight. I didn't weigh them out but they felt like the full measured weight!Overall, i am completely satisfied with my purchase! I highly recommend them but do not have other curved plates to compare them against. I went for these due to the coating and other similar curved products had bad reviews about how their plates started peeling. I don't have a longevity review on his these hold up, but if they start peeling I will hit them with some primer and paint! The coating looks solid enough to last me a while!

I recently picked up the Wolf Tactical plate carrier along with their curved weight plates, and honestly, I’m seriously impressed. The quality is top-notch—everything feels solid and well put together. The stitching is tight, the materials feel rugged, and it just gives off that vibe like it’ll hold up no matter what you throw at it. The curved plates are a game-changer. They fit really comfortably against my body, which makes a big difference whether I'm working out or using it for training. It’s clear they put thought into the design, not just in how it works but how it looks, too. The vest has a clean, modern look that stands out—in a good way. I actually feel good wearing it, which isn’t always the case with gear like this. Initially I bought flat plates and it pressed up against my chest so I went with these curved plates instead and glad i did they are way more comfortable and fit great in my weight vest. Came packaged well.

So I purchased these plates to replace the Rogue weight plates I use for the 5.11 Tactical plate carrier that I use for Murph and any WODs that require a weight vest. My Rogue plates actually started to peel and rust which is surprising, but I did purchase them in 2017 and have been using them consistently. The only thing I could think that would cause this is because I sweat an unbelievable amount when I workout and my sweat also has a very high salt content since I lose a lot of electrolytes.I purchased the plates and they arrived in a very secure package. Each plate was individually wrapped in high quality protective bubble wrap machine glued so you know you’re getting an unused item.The plates are gorgeous in orange and they are exactly the dimensions that were stated. They fit my 5.11 plate carrier really really well. Just like my Rogue weight plates. The only reason I did not purchase another Rogue plate was because the flat design made it difficult to breath during the workouts and compressed my chest with great discomfort. The Wolf Tactical Plates are slight curved at the upper and lower areas of the plate. This design makes it slightly more comfortable to wear than the Rogue plates. You still feel the compression but it’s not as pronounce as the Rogue plates.I own a pair of Rogue Cast iron plates. I believe the durability is better because it is cast iron so it won’t rust. Additionally, the plates is curved horizontally from the center and through the left and right side of the plate. It is a significantly more comfortable and definitely noticeable. However, the Rogue cast iron plates are significantly smaller so it doesn’t really fit 5.11 Tactical plate carriers at all. The Rogue cast iron plates are just not wide enough for the 5.11 internal straps to secure the plate so there will be noticeable bouncing of the plates. You’ll have to keep checking to make sure the plates did not come lose during your workouts.Overall, the Wolf Tactical weight plates were a step up from the regular Rogue Weight plates and would purchase again. I’m hoping Wolf Tactical makes a horizontally curved plates in the future.

I will see how long I can use these. the shape is fantastic, fits snugly ... wish the paint was better/harder. the corners must be tapered or rounded much better for paint to hold on
