Read the dimensions, this is not the first time I've been deceived by a photo. These sticks are tiny, I wouldn't not use unsupervised. I purchased these for vacation use so my almost 2 year old would have some toys in the hotel room. He did love using it, but the stress I felt when I was searching for one of these that had rolled away to make sure he couldn't get it after we were finished. I would say this is perfect for fine motor skills, but unfortunately a lot of those practicing fine motor skills still like to put things in their mouth.Very nice carrying case. I would get for maybe a 3 year old or if you know your kid won't be tempted to chomp on these.

I’m usually not one to write reviews. But I was so hesitant to purchase this for my daughter because of so many people saying it was a choking risk.I added this to my cart because I wanted to measure how big the sticks were before I purchased.My husband surprised me and purchased everything I had saved in my Bolo cart, including this… “choking hazard”However, I am extremely pleased. I don’t see it being a choking risk at all. My daughter is 15 months, and this toy has kept her busy for so long! She keeps coming back to it throughout the day. She’s not put one stick in her mouth either!!It’s also the perfect size, the magnet is perfect and not too strong for littles, she’s able to grip the tube in one hand and use the other to put sticks in!

We ordered the travel size for my 18 month old. The toy is cute, and well made. She is interested in it. However, the sticks are pretty small. She needs direct supervision when playing with it. They make me nervous.
