This trimmer works better than my paw perfect trimmer I paid more for. I bought the paw perfect trimmer a few years ago, and am very surprised at how easily it broke for the price I paid. This new trimmer I bought for less money with lower expectations only to be wowed at how much better it is. It's slightly quieter too, though you can't really get one that's perfectly quiet.Buddy actually rolled over and let me trim some of his nails before pulling away to go back to playing. The old paw perfect trimmer was almost always him trying to bite my hand off. This means it was way easier to get the job done. This has a safety guard on it too!I have not had it on long enough to test the battery life, which tells be it must hold a really long charge.

I already had another brand of dog nail file but as you can see, it's very large & uses 2 D batteries, so for me, it's heavy & awkward to maneuver with one hand while holding my dog's paw in the other hand (plus she hates getting her nails done & keeps jerking her paw back) so you can imagine how difficult it is to do her small, pointy dewclaw with the bigger unit! With the size of the grinder head, I'm always afraid of scraping the side of her foot when trying to round off the nail point.. So I bought this, intending to use it on just her dewclaw.. but to my surprise, it's every bit as effective as the bigger unit on ALL her nails!!Because there's no batteries, it's a LOT lighter, making it waay easier to hold & maneuver.. it's a lot quieter & honestly I think that's why she didn't keep jerking her paw away; the loudness of the other one must've been a factor? I also love that it has a permanent grinder head because having to change the circular emery sleeve on the other one was a Herculean task, I hated it, for realShould mention that my dog is a 55lb Shepherd mix with rather thick toenailsI saw a couple other people say that this file stalls when touching the nails, & when I first started filing my dogs nails, using the bigger unit, that happened to me too.. but over time I learned that you shouldn't press the file too firmly for too long because that stresses the motor; these are small motors, not horsepower rated. I have great success with a sort of "count to three" tap, if that makes sense? bzzzzz, lift, bzzzzz, liftAnyway, I just love this file and am going to donate the bigger one!Oh, should mention, you'll need an adapter to plug into a regular outlet, but you can use the same adapter that you use on your phone, so it's not even really an issue...in the picture, I'm showing both my phone adapter (on the right) & a spare generic adapter...

It’s great and it has enough room for a key or an extra roll and is very sturdy. It can be a bit heavy and awkward depending on your leash but for the price at the time it was worth the buy.

Product works great! Nice and easy to use and now I'm scratch free when playing with my puppy. If you don't know what you are doing or don't want to risk hurting them with clipping this is the way to go. Not too noisy but the sound from it against the nail may frightened them at first as it did my puppy. But comforting helped.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:While the bag itself has held up, the Velcro that holds it to the leash failed fairly quickly so it just dangles from the leash handle. The bag itself has a little metal piece that holds the used bags nicely. The bag never falls off which is a plus. The bags are easy enough to feed through the hole for easy access although for some reason I am the only one in my family that knows how to pull the bag far enough out so you don't have to feed it every time you need a new bag. No fault of the product - it's user error. Overall I would buy again if the Velcro didn't fail so quickly.

A beginner friendly way to start filing your dogs nails. Be warned the battery does tend to die rather quickly so you may get a good 2 paws in before you have to charge it again.It does create alot of dust that in turn does smell a bit strange. I'd suggest wearing a mask.It's small and slim which makes for easy storage. With the lid attachment it is safe and won't get you. But do be careful when you remove the lid because it can file you fingernail. Depending on the speed setting if it catches your dog's fur it can also tangle it.

To be honest I was a little sceptical. But it works really well on a labs nails. She had no issues with it. Pretty quick to use, does an excellent job and great price.

I think would work well for smaller dogs, but we have a greyhound. It says you can use it on large dogs by taking off the little cap, it just does not have the power for his nails.
