The texture is perfect, and it holds together well for making sandwiches. I can easily get about 6 sandwiches (using hamburger buns) from each pouch. Buying the six pack makes this very affordable. Recommend anyone that is vegetarian to give this a try.

What a wonderful alternative to use for my meals.I flirt with being vegetarian at times.When I want to go meatless, I have found jackfruit to be a good alternative.

I had a seitan "rib" recipe that called for jackfruit, and this made it SO much easier as it's all cooked and seasoned. Once I sliced up the "ribs," they were seriously amazing. Both the vegans and non-vegans said they were the best. Served with potato salad and cornbread, it was a meal to remember. I'm grateful that we found these.

Bbq flavor was overpowering and too sweet. Jackfruit didn’t have much texture.

TL;DR: Watery, salty, missing sweetness I expect in chili.Back in the day Trader Joe's had a Barbeque Jackfruit product that I loved. It had a good kick to it spice-wise, a balance of flavours and near perfect texture. It was discontinued long ago. I was hoping this product would be similar, but it falls short in several categories.Salty: TOO salty! I mean, if it had half the salt it might still be too much.Sweet: If you like sweetness in your chili, you'll need to add sugar or honey. I cook my own chili from scratch and by comparison this is very bland.Watery: Pouring out of the packet into a bowl before heating, there were easily 3 tablespoons of liquid separate from the chunky chili.Taste: As said above, bland. It has a bit of cayenne-like spicyness to it, but it simply doesn't measure up even to most packaged chili products like Hormel.Overall I'm disappointed with this product so only two stars. Won't order again.

I tried jackfruit from a co-worker that she added bbq sauce to. I loved it do I found this ready to eat BBQ jackfruit. Not even close. I bought 3 packages & couldn't past a single bite out of one pouch. I may try adding something to see if I can tolerate the taste. I won't be buying this one again.
