This Bosch 12V Max Sheet Orbital Finishing Sander delivers freedom from a cord and maximum tool control. The GSS12V-40 features a well-balanced ergonomic grip, designed to keep the hand close to the workpiece for additional control. The 12V Max brushless motor also provides extended runtime, allowing the user to sand in tight, hard-to-reach areas without having to fumble over a cord over the shoulder or arm. The orbital sander handles a variety of sanding applications. The sander has interchangeable sanding plates, allowing 1/4 sheet, 1/3 sheet and detail sanding, for ultimate control and versatility. The included dust bag allows mobile dust collection, while the tool has an interface for vacuum hose attachment. It’s super lightweight and the dust collection bag works really well.The best thing about it is that it stops immediately when you press the power button. You don’t have to wait a few seconds to put it down; it doesn’t “walk” around the work bench.Like others have said, the paper is a bit hard to find but Serious Grit has the 80x133mm with holes that don’t quite match but still work.I have several of the 12v Bosch tools so battery life isn’t a big issue for me.

you can’t go wrong with the Bosch 12v brushless tools. they have awesome power for the size and ample battery life for the average tasks. i’m an avid woodworker and this sander has cut my rough sanding time by 2/3, compared to all hand sanding. currently i’m refinishing 3 walnut gun stocks and hand checkering them with my own designs for my grandchildren.

I really like this little guy so far. It is nice to have a cordless option with a hook and loop square sanding sheet. The only thing that is rough is the sandpaper compatibility. It is compatible with Festool 3x5 sandpaper, though those have a few extra holes in the middle. I just bought “serious grit” 3x5 sandpaper from Bolo and it’s a good fit.Battery life is not bad but I know to charge it after every use or I might have a dead sander in the middle of a project. It’s very quiet and it doesn’t vibrate my hand too much. I have not found an adaptor that fits my shop vac yet but for small projects the included dust bag is fine. The port on the side has gotten in the way a couple of times, but it wouldn’t stop me from purchasing again.

If you’re looking for a vibratory sander and not a rotating sander or oscillating sander, then this is your ticket. For the money and the fact that it’s a 12 V it’s pretty much unbeatable as far as any of the competition goes. Fits in your hand perfectly and takes all the standard sizes for sandpaper. I have thousands of dollars worth of Sanders and this one from Bosch by far is my go to first.

Para mí gusto son las mejores junto con las m12 de la marca roja. Trae pads intercambiables, 1/4, 1/3 y la triangular o de acabados. Es ligera y ergonómica, lo mejor en lijadoras a batería. El único tema es encontrar los insumos pues el número de perforaciones y su posición no son muy comunes pero es algo que si eres usuario de esta marca ya debes saber, sus consumibles no comunes y caros.

Great deal on this I mostly have 18v tools but I got a few 12v now and I like the 12v stuff more and more cuz of its size and how well it performs.
Good, but not a true 1/3 sheet plate
I have a lot of Bosch power tools and all of them meet my needs, I have no desire to switch to another brand. However, with thos little sander it should be noted that the 1/3 sheet plate is not truly a 1/3 plate, it is quite a bit smaller. This is particularly annoying since it does not have clips to use none hook and loop paper nor does it have a punch for the dust collection holes, making that plate almost worthless to me. I did buy this for detail work since being 12v it will not have the same power as a 18v so I doubt I would use the 1/3 plate too much anyways, but it is still disappointing. Otherwise, this has so far been a great sander. 4 stars just because of the "1/3" plate, everything else is as expected.

I love it, great fit in the hand, the dust collection is a little in the way but I usually can manage. Love that it has variable speed. Though it would be nice if it had the sheet lock system like the corded versions. I only use the 1/4 sheet pad.. Still 5 stars
