5.0 out of 5 stars Great "thock" sound, heavy metal construction and great price!
Loving this keyboard so far. Great value for the money and sounds amazing with the Wisteria switches. The sound is not too pingy and more of a deep "thick" sound which is really nice. The weight is really nice as well and feels level and stable.I did run into a bit of an issue using the extra space bar that came with the keyboard being sticky so I reverted back to the original gray one.The color combination is really nice and neutral and not very flashy which I love. The insert for the 2.4GHz dongle is really nice and the switch works relly well.I really wish there was a dedicated shortcut to turn off all the LED lights and not just turn them off by lowering the brightness. It feels like it still might be wasting battery life without having an actual "Off State"Overal a great keyboard especially for the price. I plan on getting some OUTEMU White Switches to make it a little quieter and adding some foam to the case to improve the sound for for the price I paid and the out of the box experience I highly recommend this.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic keyboard. Quit looking at reviews and buy it.
Incredibly satisfying keyboard. I never tried linear switches before, but man do I love them now that I have. So subdued and smooth, very quiet too so it isn’t distracting to people I’m on voice calls with. Not so great for typing, though, I’ll admit. But the cool part about this keyboard is that I can change the switches whenever I want if I ever get tired of them.Battery life on this is pretty great. I use the wireless 2.5 ghz mode most of the time, and as long as I switch it to USB mode when I’m not using it, I can use it for multiple sessions without the battery dying. And when it needs charging, it comes with a pretty high quality braided USB C cable too, and it’s always nice to have one of those around. You’re probably better off using the cable that comes with the keyboard when you want to plug it in, since the port is inside of a square recessed hole that some other USB C plugs might not fit into. The rgb looks nice too. The effects are pretty interesting, and it’s easy to switch between rgb effects too. Controls are available in the instruction booklet that comes with it.The materials are nice too. It’s got a pretty solid construction, feels great, and has some unexpected heft to it. This is my first foray into nice mechanical keyboards so I’m not sure if a lot are like this, but this keyboard has some serious weight to it compared to your standard membrane keyboard/cheap mechanical keyboards.I am in love with this keyboard, and I have no regrets with it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great starter mechanical keyboard!
The media could not be loaded. Really excited about the keyboard so far! This is my first mechanical keyboard, and I think it's a great starter one. I wanted something that would be pretty good out-of-the-box since I'm not ready to dive into the world of modifications yet, but I like that it allows for that and comes with a keycap puller and switch puller for whenever you are ready to start making mods.Really affordable price (especially since I got it with a 30% coupon) for a mechanical keyboard. Can't really compare it to $150+ keyboard, since I've never bought one, but from what I've seen during my research, this seems to compare nicely considering the price! It's got a good weight to it for being a plastic frame, and seems to mimic the shape and heft of what I expect an aluminum keyboard might feel like. I also like that this one comes with a knob. I have to get used to the more compact keyboard, since I'm switching from a full-size, but it's not too bad so far.I went with the Gateron Pro Yellow switches since I wanted a creamy/thocky sound as opposed to a more clicky sound, and I think it sounds pretty good! The video I uploaded has a bit more echo/weight than I hear myself, it's a bit creamier/thockier in real life. That said, once I do some more research, I'll probably look to switch out the keycaps for an even creamier sound, but again, for an out-of-the-box keyboard, I'm happy with it!I got one-day shipping, and it arrived right on time with no delay. I only docked one star since some of the FN functions don't seem to work. I'm on a Windows, and the commands for Pause, Print Screen, and changing the backlight brightness don't seem to work. It could be user error; I've only been playing around with it for about an hour.Last thing is I'll be getting a wrist rest. I do like the angle of the keyboard when I use the longest legs, but given the frame, it's much taller than my previously very flat bluetooth keyboard, and I can already tell I'll feel some strain in my wrists without it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best keyboard for the money it sounds and feels so incredibly good
bought this keyboard 2 days ago and i am in love. it feels and sounds absolutely incredible for the money that it is, it also came with extra keycaps, switches a switch/keycap puller and a very nice braided cable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Great Great Gaming Keyboard!
I found this keyboard after watching a YouTube video about alternatives to Razer, Logitech and Steel Series (with no disrespect intended at the big hardware companies). The video is by Toasty Bros called "Stop Buying Bad and Expensive Keyboards" from July 5, 2024. I'm so glad I got this Epomaker 65%. It really does feel nice to type on with a satisfying THOCK, it's hefty and stable, adjustable to work with Mac or PC (if necessary), has a 2.4 connection so it's a little more responsive than BT (extra important for gaming) and, since it's wireless, I can always find the perfect spot for it on my desk. Also it looks super cool -on the desk or on the wall rack. I love this keyboard! And thanks, Toasty Bros!
Excelente teclado mecánico
Excelente teclado. Los materiales son de excelente calidad.
70% of my Keychron Q1 for less than half
The media could not be loaded. Disclaimer: The Epomaker EK68 was sent to me for review. Of course, I will aim to be as objective and fair in the review. I also already own my custom Keychron Q1 which I am happy with so I'm reviewing this out of interest and to help other people thinking of picking it up. Take for that what you will.I'll put the conclusion up here if you don't want to read through the whole review since it's quite detailed. Hope it helps!------Conclusion: Is this a perfect keyboard? Of course not. Parts of it feel a cheap for sure. Anyone can nitpick and criticize for days. But when I think about how much keyboards cost nowadays, it makes me realize that this is really a very good deal. For $130 CAD I get about 70% of my Q1 that cost me $300. Plus it can even be wireless! While I still prefer my Q1, I don't really miss it that much while using this, unlike some other keyboards I've tried where I instantly want to go back. This is especially true with all those gaming keyboards from big brands that easily run $200+ yet feel just awful to type on. Now, alternatively you could build your own custom keyboard to beat this but honestly, I highly doubt you can do it for $130. Basic switches and clone caps alone will set you back like $50-70. And with the custom hobby, you often have to wait months to get your kit in AND have to pay a ton in shipping and customs. This is on Bolo so everything is priced in and has modding options if you want to try. So yes, 5 stars for its value. 4.5 "real" stars because nothing is perfect. If you're someone who's just looking to get into mechanical keyboards, I think this is a very solid starter set. And who knows, the Epomaker EK68 might be enough to scratch that itch and you won't have to look back at this hobby.------What You Get: The keyboard itself (see below). A wireless dongle that can be stored on the keyboard itself. A generic braided long USB-C cable. A decent keycap/switch puller combo. A few spare switches. A few extra keycaps in different colors. I ordered Gateron Yellows but was sent Epomaker's Budgerigar's switches. More on that later.Build Quality: It's plastic. All of it. That's not to say it's good or bad necessarily, I do think it's quite well built and feels sturdy. It's just a little lighter than I expected, especially since the Q1 is made fully out of metal and weighs like 5x more. It's still weighty enough to sit firmly on your desk.It has kick-flip feet to give it a total of 3 typing angles. Note that if you want to do deep mods beyond keycaps and switch swaps, I don't think it'll be very easy. I don't see any outside screws anywhere.RGB: The RGB is kinda muted. There's a thick white polycarbonate plate between the PCB and keycaps. The keycaps themselves aren't transparent in any way. Thus, the RGB from the switches is somewhat blocked. You can definitely see it no problem but it won't be a crazy light-show unless you're in the dark. Epomaker does give a ton of RGB effects options and should suit the majority of people unless you're super duper specific about the effects you want.Wireless/Bluetooth: No problems with the wireless for me. You'll have to read the manual to know the instructions on how to pair via Bluetooth but using the wireless dongle was plug-and-play. Unfortunately, there's no battery-level indicator. With RGB on, I get about 2 days of use without needing to charge. RGB is extremely draining on the battery so it's not too bad IMO. My wireless gaming mouse has a similar thing where RGB on only gets it a day of life but a week without. As such, you can think of 2 days as a worst-case scenario and you should be able to get much, much longer with RGB off. I didn't test it in time for this review however. The EK68 does go into a sleep mode to try and conserve battery every now and then but it didn't give me any issues waking up. Just type. Think of this as a wired keyboard with wireless when you need it in a pinch instead of a truly wireless keyboard. I didn't have any latency issues whatsoever.Knob: By default, the knob is volume up and down, but you can press it for mute/unmute as well. The knob feel is alright. You can feel each "click" for every step which I like but it doesn't feel as good as my Q1 it's a little mushier in comparison.Switches: Like I said, I was sent the tactile Budgerigar switches. They're not too bad honestly. Factory lube could be better. I prefer Gateron Yellows since I like linear but these have been pretty decent to type on. And I got my highest ever typing test speed at 131 wpm with these the first time I used it. Coincidence? Probably. But it goes to show that it definitely wasn't slowing me down. The actuation point is a little weighty and is right at the start. Thus, it feels a little bit like a linear since you get past it right away instead of getting halfway before hitting it. It makes me feel kinda confident when I type, like when I press a key it's because I intend to; you won't be accidentally pressing keys with these. I've done a lot of typing and gaming on these and it performed just fine. I like these much better than Cherry and Gateron Browns or whatever other switches you find in generic gaming keyboards at Best Buy.Typing Feel: I'm not totally sure what the gasket does but it does feel reasonably soft to type on, like I'm not bottoming out hard. I'm using it for like 14 hour days doing work or playing games and I haven't gotten fatigued at all. Unlike my Q1 though, it doesn't flex much at all. That polycarbonate plate is quite thick which contributes to the rigidity I suppose. The feel of each switch is fairly uniform, though the larger switches like the backspace does feel a bit different. My Q1 is softer and nicer to type on but not by that much.Typing Sound: It's not a clicky keyboard so it's not super loud. It sounds a quite muted if anything, probably because of the full-plastic build and polycarbonate backplate. Don't get this if you want to flex your cool mechanical keyboard noises to your gamer friends over Discord. Out of the box, I think it sounds quite good for stock. It's a mix between clack and thoccy, leaning more on thoccy given its muted nature. I find it pleasant to listen to when doing focused typing in an office. You can see the video for how it sounds. I took it with my phone camera so it isn't the BEST audio quality but gives a general feel for it. Wear headphones to hear some of the bass.
Mein Sohn ist begeistert
Von der Größe her perfekt zum zocken für ausgewählte Games, da sie wesentlich weniger Platz braucht als eine normale Tastatur.
