It does what it should; keeps the sun off. But it is a pretty cheaply made product. One of the spokes was broken upon arrival, and it feels like the others aren't far behind. Any wind and it's done. It is lightweight and fits into a bag well, which is a positive. It has a shorter handle but that's fine for me, it's actually better in some cases where you want to keep it close to your body for maximum protection and to not bother people around you. The light color of purple doesn't create heat under it, so that's another positive. I just hope it lasts.

This umbrella is not hard to open or close. Pay attention to how you first open it. You can hear that the shiny fabric is sticky. Common sense: instead of forcing it, go around and unstick all of the fabric first so you don't break the umbrella. Make sure to lose up the top middle as well, that's where the fabric is stuck tightest together from factory.Now that it opens easily, push the button in at the top to close it. Wrap it up like you would any other umbrella and velcro closed with the strap.When you slide the umbrella down, tuck the metal bits into the handle to get everything back into shape. Same as every other compact umbrella. That's how you opened it, that's how you put it back and it fits just fine right back into the fabric case.Don't manhandle your umbrella and you'll be fine.That being said, the umbrella is great especially for the price. Keeps sun off well and is easy enough to maneuver while yourdoing other things. Keeps sun off top 1/4 to top half of your body depending on height. Covers arms, neck, and head easily while your arms are up holding it. Seems rather study when fully open to lighter wind gusts, I was impressed for the price in comparison to a regular umbrella. Cute colors too. Love the green and silver we got.

These umbrellas proved to be very light yet durable & useful.They easily fit into one of the water bottle pockets on the side of my medium sized sling bag.I bought 3 of these umbrellas in different colors for 3 adult ladies to carry as sun umbrellas on our recent week long family vacation to Washington DC in August.They were perfect for creating needed shade while we waited in lines to museums & government bldgs.It also rained 2 days, with one rainy afternoon a bit gusty too, & these umbrellas held up well.Only 2 things I would improve on these umbrellas is an easier to push release button to open & that to have them collapse more neatly to put away in their covering.As inexpensive umbrellas, we found them a real value & I highly recommend them.

This umbrella is made with very inexpensive materials. The handle is plastic and the thin metal shaft attaches to the canopy in an antenna style, which should make it more durable, but it bends easily. The canopy smells so intense that it seems it is infused with perfume and chemicals.I did not have time to open the umbrellas before the return window closed as we had been very busy, and with the price I paid and the other reviews I read, I had blind trust these would be a great value. I very rarely rate anything with only 1 star, but I am truly disappointed in the poor construction and lack of durability. In addition to the smell of the canopy, it is quite small and and I'm unsure how a petite woman could get much cover from the rain while using this. Please do not purchase this Chinese made umbrella. In my opinion, it is money extremely poorly spen. I have been had.

Convenient. Good value for money. Protects against rain. Have to be careful using it when it’s windy because it’s lightweight. You have to be careful opening it or you’ll break it. But it’s really handy on a trip.

Love that the button puts the umbrella up and also pulls it in to put it down. It’s a great size too.
Difficult to open
Didn't realise it was manual.. but very tricky/hard to open and keep open.Try and stick with auto umbrellas
