5.0 out of 5 stars Spooky
Features that I've worked on in this model, like the position of the rotator cuff, have actually influenced the way my body feels!
4.0 out of 5 stars Includes informative poster
It was interesting to inspect this small skeleton. It helped me to even understand better how everything is connected as far as our bones are concerned. Because of the way that the arms are attached, there isn't really "true to life" motion. My only problem is that it was difficult to put the legs on. The legs have to be attached to the rest of the skeleton through the hip bone with a tiny bolt that I lost pretty much immediately trying to put it together. In other words, there is some assembly required... I wish it came fully assembled but it seems that for packaging purposes it needed to ship disassembled. I think my fingers are too big but overall this is pretty cool. There was also some plastic wrap around the skull so I removed it and found out that the top of his skull comes off (there is space to hide something in the brain cavity). The jaw also is attached with springs so it moves "I made him talk". And the best part of all in my opinion is the included poster that shows and labels all of the bones and ligaments
2.0 out of 5 stars Room decor?
I was disappointed that it only took a moment to assemble. Three different grandchildren found little interest in this gift.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good model
I am taking an anatomy class and had to learn the bones and muscles. I used this model for the bones and then with clay I placed the muscles, it helped me a lot, and good price compared with other models
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Anatomy Resource for Elementary!
I’m a homeschool mom of 4 kids (9, 7, 5, & 3) and am always looking for fun things my kids can handle while we study. This skeleton fit the bill! At 17.7” tall, its size is not overwhelming, though I will have to be a little creative with its display location since it's taller than a bookshelf shelf. I really appreciate that it stores in a smaller box (11.5” x 4” x 6”), even if it does require some assembly. It also keeps it safe when not displayed. My favorite feature is the movable jaw. The educational poster is very detailed and I am guessing that my kids will enjoy making connections between the skeleton and the poster. The poster is probably more detailed than my elementary schoolers need, but it can grow with them. Disclaimer: I don't known enough about anatomy to discuss the skeleton's degree of anatomical accuracy, but feel confident it's a good fit for what we need.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very cool
This mini human skeleton model has been the cutest addition to our homeschool space! My boys have been really interested in anatomy lately, so I thought this would be fun for them. Some cons I’ve noticed have been that the hips and shoulders don’t appear to be anatomically correct in the way that they move, but for the price, it’s not a deal breaker. Another little thing was that it required some assembly and it wasn’t exactly easy getting your fingers in the places they needed to be to attach the legs!
2.0 out of 5 stars Mostly accurate model
First off this came in parts and was easy to put together. The pedestal underneath looks like marble or a nice stone. It isnt. It is a white carboard flimsy base. It does fall over all the time. Its mostly accurate and its cool that the skull covers up to see where the brain goes.I like it but It feels really cheap.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very detailed
Great little skeleton, very detailed. It's posable, but the joints only have one axis of movement, so the poses are limited. Everything is held together but nuts and bolts that can be tightened, but they're very tiny. I lost one nut right after getting it out of the box, but that arm didn't fall off yet, so it's good. The top of the skull pops off. I don't if it's supposed to do that or if that's just from the way it was manufactured, but I figure it's great for putting something inside, like a brain, or a peanut or even a tiny light. The lower jaw is hinged and is on a spring. I had this little guy standing guard over my bowl of candy for Halloween.
