I got a new desktop for working on video editing and production. It had been recommended to me that having a dedicated drive for the video files would be more efficient when rendering the videos, so I have this drive for that purpose. This is not the fastest drive on the market, but it seemed like a good value for the money. So far, I can't complain. I am able to render a 50-minute video in under four minutes (not 4k). (I use Adobe Premiere Pro.) I know the drive is not the only factor in rendering times, but it can be a factor if it doesn't perform well enough. So far, I have had no issues with reliability. Since I don't use it as a boot drive, I can't really comment about boot times or other related factors.All told, I recommend this product.

Installed as a second drive on a new desktop computer. Tiny form factor connects easily, detected and formatted easily on Windows 11, and was ready to use in minutes. Super-fast transfer speeds are nice. Large 2TB capacity ensures years of extra storage. Have been a loyal WD Black buyer for a decade. Big fan of these high quality, fast, reliable drives. Would definitely buy again.

This is a good drive.I decided to return it because I already have a 1 TB NVME and didn't really need the extra storage for the massive cost. Also I decided the risk of overheat without a heatsink is too high.Given the fact that I wanted good airflow in my case and already had enough storage, it wasn't for me.It's an innovative and important product, however.I assume I would have enjoyed it had I kept the item and everything would have been fine in the end (sans money).
